Fully equipped cabin with views & hotel amenities
The bungalow (A4) at hotel Balcon offers unusual, rather quirky accommodation. All the bungalows are semi-detached, in pairs, and have a little south-facing wooden veranda with small table and two upright chairs. The view from the verandas is down the valley towards the sea. The cabin has two windows and its own front door from the veranda, approached via a short flight of steps with hand rail. The living room contains wardrobe space, a 3-seater sofa-bed, a table and four chairs, and a kitchenette comprising a 2-ring hot plate, sink and fridge plus crockery, cutlery, pans etc. There is aircon, TV and telephone in the room. Leading off the living room is a compact double room with comfortable bed, bedside drawers and aircon unit. Also leading off the living room is a shower room with toilet. Everything except the shower room is cladded in varnished pine, giving it the atmosphere of a log cabin. I was looking for a private, solitary, simple but comfortable getaway for a few days and this fitted the bill perfectly. Nice & peaceful - depending on your neighbours! When I wanted more space, restaurant food, waiter service and a bit of company on a large sunny terrace I could have it. Mountain walks are less than 5 minutes walk away, and the centre of Competa with church, cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and boutiques is only a few minutes walk in the opposite direction. There are convenient, comfortable buses to the seaside and the city of Malaga if you want a change of scene.
