Columbus isn’t a tourist destination so the available places are limited. We needed a place to stay for a couple of weeks while we helped our daughter and her family when she was having another baby. The apartment above The Southern was a good fit for us. It was clean, the living/kitchen/dining area was spacious and comfortable. Vince had supplied a nice selection of breakfast and snack, including water and even a few beers in the refrigerator. The kitchen had all the basics needed to handle simple food prep and a good Keurig coffee maker. There was adequate glassware and better than average cookware, although we only had occasional take-out food from the nearby Zachary’s and the Thai place.
The shower was fine, and the bathroom was clean and warm. The bed was comfortable and the walk in closet was nice. The only drawback was the one small window above the bed with a view of the neighboring building ally side wall. It was winter, so nothing to see anyway. We took morning coffee on the front verandah when the weather allowed.
The owner Vince couldn’t have been more available or accommodating. We will stay here again, if it’s available.
