4BD with Large Deck! Amazing Mountain Views!

Summary:
Welcome to Moose Manor! This eco-friendly retreat is styled for four-season lodging & is nestled at the base of the Rockies. The 4 bedroom, 2 bath home exudes the rustic mountain aesthetic one might expect from a traditional cabin. Enjoy modern amenities like solar power & a Tesla charging station while surrounded by wildlife & endless outdoor activities. Fantastic accommodations for a small group looking to take advantage of the mountain lifestyle or solo traveler seeking solitude!

The Space:
The tasteful scale of this rustic, sun-filled home can not be overstated; cozy rooms, neutral tones, and abundant views from every window. Upon entering, you can appreciate the care and attention to detail put into the living room including homey furnishing and tons of trademark cabin charm. The main living area is illuminated by natural light and the warmth of this space is enhanced by a stunning stone fireplace. The fireplace serves as the centerpiece between two plush couches and a butterfly chair, with a flat screen mounted above the mantel.

Daily life will likely center around the massive deck while those who love to cook will be drawn to the kitchen. The quintessential cabin kitchen is highly functional and comfortable and has a sunny dining area fit for up to six people. Plenty of dining and cooking essentials are available to guests including stainless steel appliances, kitchenware, teapot, coffee maker, toaster, and tons of cabinet space. Find everything you need to prepare a wonderful home-cooked meal.

Follow the light streaming in and step outside to a huge private deck that has endless views and the perfect sitting area to watch the world go by. The sounds and views of the wildlife and Pikes Peak, (“America’s Mountain”) are the perfect sensory complement to a meal prepared on the back deck with friends or family. Cozy up next to the outdoor fireplace or heat lamp and have all the fun of camping without leaving the cabin.

When the sun goes down, unwind in one of the private bedrooms. Romantically perfect for two, but nicely accommodating for up to 10 people. Open the blinds and wake up to the wilderness after a restful sleep in the big cozy bed on the main floor. Also in the main floor bedroom is a nightstand, closet rack, and luggage rack to hold your suitcases with care. Connected to the first bedroom is a newly renovated bathroom, outfitted with a shower/bath combo, vanity, and toilet. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, and high-quality towels are provided in each bathroom. Your comfort is our top priority!

Downstairs you’ll find additional sleeping arrangements, a large bathroom, and a washer/dryer unit. To the left of the stairs is a bedroom with a luxurious king-sized bed and matching side table. A convenient desk and table provide a space for working or reading. Down the hall is another similarly-sized bedroom with an exposed wooden beamed wall for even more cabin character. This room also has ample closet space for extra storage and the bed has been made with luxury linens. Also on the lower level is a bunk bedroom, if you want to bring your little ones. The beautiful furnishings throughout create an ambiance of casual luxury.

The downstairs living quarters share a nice-sized bathroom with a walk-in shower, equipped with all your home-away-from-home essentials.

Driving electric? We have you covered with an outdoor plug to charge your Tesla overnight by the driveway. The Tesla Powerwall is solar-powered so even when the grid goes down your power stays on. It has a storage capacity and there’s no need to bring your own charging cables!

This a dog-friendly residence and your four-legged friends will have plenty of space to run around and explore the fenced-in yard!

Really fun, spacious cabin
Our family of 9 truly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was spacious so everyone had their personal space but still a big open space in the living room and deck to hang out and have fun. So many amenities to make us comfortable and really enjoyed chatting with our host whenever we had a question. Really memorable stay!

Highly recommend!
This is a fantastic property, interestingly remodeled from an original very old house. Really cute! It had all we needed, well stocked kitchen, really easy to use outdoor grill, and great indoor and outdoor spaces. My favorite was a swing located down from the house in a lovely little flower-filled valley - perfect for an afternoon nap! Amazing laundry units (way better than my home ones!), lots of very hot water, and good water pressure. All around was a fantastic stay - highly recommend! (Caveat - no small children or small dogs - the inside stairs might be challenging with little ones, and the outdoor deck is amazing but with gaps along the bottom that would make me really nervous with littles)

Great view!
The home was clean and the view was great. 4x4 recommended, but one family member had a mini van and did make it up the hill. Close to attractions in any direction of the home. 😀

Don’t be deceived
This property should not be in the rental pool in its current condition. The carpets are so dirty you cannot walk around the house without shoes on. There is a severe sewer problem causing horrible odor that makes it extremely difficult to be in the house. Before we could sleep the first night we had to spend an hour cleaning spider webs and killing spiders by the dozens. The window blinds are ripped out of the wall, just laying on the floor. We reached out to the Hoste company as soon as we arrived to let them know the home was in horrible condition and not cleaned, was asked to send pictures which I did showing the extreme dirty condition with visible pet pee stains in the pictures. I was told they would send someone out to address the issues and after continually reaching out to them, not a single thing was taken care of. They never sent anyone to assess the situation. We wanted to leave because of the lack of cleanliness and horrible smell but were 7 hours from home with no where else to go. The location of the home is fantastic and has potential but in its current condition should not be rented.

Can't recommend at this time.
Though we had high hopes from the pictures, I can't recommend staying here at this time. Cute location, and structure but needs to have new carpet, and cleaned. Handyman work on the trim and doors is quite terrible. Smelled like mildew and pets, with many stains on the carpets and sheets. Washer smelled worse than the house so we couldn't even try to wash the sheets. Would have moved but nothing was available so we were stuck. If it were an inexpensive rental I might understand more, but at over $5000 for the week I would expect it to be clean, and no mold stains on the sheets. Lots of potential but someone needs to invest in the property if they are going to be charging rates like that. I would upload pictures but I don't see the option on this review.

Simply Awesome!
This house was truly a home away from home. Plenty of room, well kept and a great view! The only thing missing from the house is you! If it is available at the time of your trip you would be a fool to pass it up. The dog area was a great convenience. Phil and Evan were great, quick responses when needed even very understanding when a wall hanging was accidentally knocked off and damaged. We will definitely be looking for availability the next time we go to Colorado, would also be willing to plan our trip around its availability, it was just that good! 5 and a half stars!

Quaint little cabin, great location, wooded neighborhood
We loved this little cabin, it was quaint and good for our needs including the setting and location. We did have issues with check in as the lock key pad was not working and the key pad would only lock if we entered the wrong pass code. Once we finally got in, the door would not stay closed due to poor latch alignment with the door jamb. Communications with the host were very good, they were very responsive and was able to send out their local handyman who fixed the door latch. Every time I needed to contact them, I spoke to someone very quickly who helped with the door issues. Additionally 2 of the beds had uncomfortable mattresses. Overall a great little place to stay in the Manitou area.
