Good stay in Cologne - just a few small things
Pros:
-great location; very close to the metro
-accurate number of beds and rooms
-overall clean
-beds comfortable
Cons
- communication: I had to reach out to host for check in info the day of arrival. If you’re traveling international, you may need to reach out sooner.
- communication: we couldn’t figure out how to connect with the WiFI. When we reached out to the host he didn’t respond. We were never able to use it.
- one tiny trash can in the whole apartment so it was difficult to keep trash from piling up
- shower head was broken/leaking so difficult to use
- overwhelming gross smell in the downstairs lobby (smoke, trash) - host needs to do something about that. The flat itself smells fine.
FYI and Pro Tips
- the flat is above a business called Scooter Guru so it’s in that building in case you weren’t sure you were in the right place
- visit the kiosk across the street in the morning for really good coffee and snacks. The owner is very friendly and speaks English.
- no A/C but we found that is common in German homes; it wasn’t unbearable because the temperatures were mild and we opened windows so it was actually fine: however if street sounds bother you, take note you are by the metro and street
