The room was nice and cozy but the beer at the bar was disgusting and the waitress never gave a menu and didn’t understand basic English. The A/C didn’t work but the complaint never addressed

I stayed in Ibis Köln Messe for three nights. The hotel was modern, there was step free enterance and two elevators. I stayed in an accessible room as I'm an ambulatory wheelchair user. The room worked well for my needs. The room was spacy, it had hard floor and the shower was wheelchair accessible. There was a shower chair that was attached to the railing that could be moved to different positions or removed. The bathroom door was a sliding door and there were no doorstep. The room had full body mirror and the bathroom mirror was adjustable. The bed was accessible only from one side and from the foot end. Only thing that didn't work for me was that there were only two power outlets in the room and those were on the writing desk. There was no power outlets near the bed. I had to use an extension chord to get electricity for my CPAP. Two power outlets are too little in my opinion for this kind of room as people may have e.g. power chairs or other medical equipment that needs to be charged or plugged in. The room wasn't dirty but it wasn't super clean either. The soap was almost out since the day I arrived and even though I asked for a refill I never got it. Otherwise the service in the hotel was excelent. The staff were super nice and helpful. For an example they offered to help me with my luggage without needing to ask them first and after my first night I was asked if the room was sufficient for my accessibility needs. These kind of seemingly little things matter.

Zweckmäßig und sauberes Zimmer, jedoch sehr hellhörig. Jedes Husten, Fernseher, alles ist vom Nachbarn zu hören. Daher ist es für entspanntes Schlafen nicht geeignet. Die Matratzen in meinem Zimmer waren beide durchgelegen und müssen ausgetauscht werden. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Aufgrund von hellhörigen Zimmern und unbequemen Matratzen werde ich es zukünftig nicht mehr buchen.

Der Checkin war problemlos, obwohl die Formulare nur auf englisch waren - in Deutschland. Aber wir haben es trotzdem geschafft. Das Frühstück hat uns sehr geschmeckt. Die Zimmer waren zwar klein, aber gemütlich. Wir würden wieder kommen.
