Gorgeous View Guest House in Amish Country

Come enjoy our beautifully furnished, farmhouse style guest home in the Amish Country. Our guest home boasts a flowing floor plan with fully stocked kitchen, spacious dining room and living room and 5 bedrooms. The home has books, games, and toys for kids of all ages.. There is a nice deck and gazebo and a gas grill for you to enjoy outdoor cooking and lounging. With a large yard on one side and a vegetable garden on the other, you will love the open space with plenty of room for your group to spread out.

You will feel the serenity of country life all around you at our home whether it be seeing the horse and buggies passing by or watching the farmer in the fields which border the property.

The main drive will be shared with the trucks from the paving business we manage and you might hear and see the work trucks come and go in the early morning and late afternoon. We are also next to a busy road. You will have your own private parking spaces and all of the yard is fenced for the sake of your privacy.

If you are interested in sightseeing while in the Lancaster area, you will find this location a short 15-20 minute drive to major tourist attractions such as Sight and Sound Theatre, Kitchen Kettle Village, Strasburg Railroad and so much more!!! The town of Intercourse is 10 minutes away with it’s quaint shops and neat little eateries. We are also a 5 minute drive to Walmart, Home Depot and Chili’s. Just up the street is an Amish grocery store where you can find literally everything you will need in the grocery line.

Good location
This was a good location for us, but as others have indicated there is a lot of road noise in the bedrooms. There are also no televisions which was fine with us but may be a surprise to others.

Beautiful area
We enjoyed our stay here. The area is gorgeous and our host was very nice. We had a couple of issues that she took care of quickly. Just a word of advice the house is on a main road with lots of traffic day and night. This means lots of trucks and noise. As we live in a quiet cul de sac this took a little getting used too. But we loved the house and would stay again if we were to return to the area.

Bachelorette Weekend
We did a short trip for my daughter's bachelorette weekend. This property worked very well for the 7 ladies that went on this trip. We did not spend much time at the house as we had many things planned to do in Lancaster - but it had plenty of rooms for us all and had everything that we needed.

Great experience!
This was our second time staying at the property and we were thrilled! The house was clean and neat and perfectly accommodated our family. We were excited to see the play area and fire pit in the yard that were added since last year. The area was scenic and calm. The house really made our vacation something special.

A series of Unfortunate events
Let’s start with the positive, the owner communicated and addressed the issues that came up during our stay. The the country setting was so beautiful in the evening. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, pans, essentials. The decor of the house was very nice and homey. The house was clean upon our arrival. There is a massive yard and really neat play structure for kids to enjoy (even my teenagers loved it!) Unfortunately, during our stay the air conditioning system broke. Being that the weather was hot and extremely humid it was extremely uncomfortable in the house. We attempted opening windows but that led us to the second issue: the noise. The house is located on a highway with a concrete business on the property. All night long and the early horses of the morning vehicles fly by and horses clip clop down the street. The owners did effectively communicate and try to solve the problem quickly. They were also extremely kind and easy to work with. We were also given multiple fans to help cool the house down until the air could be fixed. location and noise became unbearable. The fans were helpful but finding places to plug them in was problematic due to Each bedroom having one outlet and no overhead lighting. We ended up checking out early as everyone was sleep deprived and grouchy. I want to reiterate, the owners were very kind and effective at communicating and problem solving to get the repair done. Within two days the owner and an AC tech assess and addressed the repair.

Lovely home
Lovely home but was very disappointed about the number of bedrooms. It was listed as a 6 bedroom which would have been perfect for us because that's what we were looking for when we booked. We later found out it was only 5 bedrooms, and questioned it with Lena which she agreed and therefore changed the listing. When we got there we found the 5th room was not actually a private bedroom but just a small room attached to another that shared entrance, so therefore did not allow the privacy that we expected our couples would have. I believe this should have been clearly indicated in the listing. Otherwise there were no major issues. Lena was supportive,.

Annual Girls Weekend!
Our weekend could not have been better. Lena, our host, was available for questions and very responsive. She even delivered the most delicious cinnamon buns….such a treat and nice touch! The house was clean, neat and tidy with more than everything we could have wanted. Perfect location to all Lancaster, Pa has to offer! We will definitely rent this house again!

Wonderful base for a tour of PA gardens
We greatly enjoyed our stay and the house met our needs well. The views are lovely - and the colors and light in PA in the fall are stunning. Lena was very helpful in managing any small glitches. The only drawback, for us, was the noise level from traffic on Rte 10, which was pretty much constant and very intrusive. However, we were probably more sensitive than most guests might be as we live in a very rural part of Virginia where there is absolutely no traffic noise at all at night (and very little/distant during the day.) At least it made sure we always got up early! A small detail: in some of the bedrooms, a bedside table, or even just a chair, would be helpful - somewhere to place objects/clothes, other than the floor, and maybe facilitate being able to read in bed at night. Overall, a very pleasant stay. Thank you!

Listing looks better than actual home
Cute house-well decorated. There are no TV’s. The patio is lovely but the trees are over grown and patio furniture is old and dry rotted. Very large ants in the kitchen area, had to throw out a bunch of food. The A/C only cools certain rooms. The 5th bedroom is attached to the master and shares the same entry. The house wasn’t bad, just didn’t fit our family and needs. Description needs to be updated with accurate information and photos.

A dream view
We were very pleased with all the amenities. We rented for two nights during the Memorial Day Weekend (10 people). It has a breath taking view of nature's green, and a Amish farm across the road.There is no TV in the house. But we had a great time anyway. It is about 35 minutes from Longwood Gardens or Lancaster. We recommend this property.

Serene Countryside Farmhouse
We toured Pittsburgh and Gettysburg before settling into our Lancaster County home away from home. The setting was beautiful and the hospitality from Lena and her family was unmatched. The home was clean and well supplied. We had six adults and had plenty of room. There’s also plenty of room outside to eat and relax. Highly recommend! Thank you Lena and Sam!
