"There were some minor issues which could have been avoided and I should not have had to raise with members of staff including: 1. No lemon for gin and tonics in the bar on two consecutive nights 2. Extremely slow service in the restaurant - the table next to us was offered a complimentary drink as a result but we were not 3. On one day the used towels were not replaced in the room even though they were put in the bath as requested 4. On both days the tea and milk was not replaced in the room and...

"Lovely views and gardens fabulously building inside and out. Sorry to say the breakfast was lawful l was not late for breakfast but no hot food everything was empty except cold Tomatoes half cook cold scrambled egg l though they would put more food out but no. No cups No cutlery tryed to make tea no milk. When my family came down they had the same exact the same experience. I don't feel it was the staff's fault as they seam to be under staffed. This is my second visit we loved everything else...

"The Telstar is a lovely old time bed and breakfast using a converted house (i think). It is relatively close to Exeter St David's train station, and very close to Exeter University. The rate includes breakfast and free parking, which is a big nus. I had the single room with a small shower and toilet. No complaints. The staff are all very helpful. Be warned that there are no lifts in the hotel and the stairway is quite narrow. So those with huge luggage will have some difficulty getting up to...

"Wonderful grand hotel. A classic British seaside hotel. Great room with sea view and the beach at the front door. Friendly and attentive service from all staff. "

"There was a warm and friendly welcome. The room was very clean and so was the bathroom. Bed was comfortable. It is a budget hotel, obviously rather old with idiosyncratic shaped rooms and corridors. No lift so if you are on the upper floors and struggle with mobility not for you. The hotel has limited parking at £6.00 per day. Hotel is right on the seafront and only minutes from the town centre and shops. Lounges rather basic and sparse."

"Very comfortable and quiet stay. Good breakfast options including gluten and dairy free. Decor a bit tired especially bathroom with some mould. "
