Whidbey Island Beach Front Vacation Home

Enjoy longer vacations and weekend or holiday getaways at this Whidbey Island waterfront home near Maxwelton Beach on Useless Bay (60 waterfront feet of beach frontage). The home faces west towards the Olympic Mountains & daily sunsets. Just a few steps off the back yard you can walk for miles in either direction on no bank beaches and dig clams on the 3,000 front feet of tidelands (owned by the homeowner). At low tide, enjoy a sandy beach for up to 700 yards directly in front of the house. The location is ideal for Puget Sound fishing, crabbing, hiking, biking, golfing, and shopping in charming island towns. The boat launch is nearby. Enjoy all the comforts of home in the fully equipped kitchen complete with range, oven, microwave and dishwasher (induction cooktop), separate laundry room and wireless Internet. Each bedroom has its own TV as well as a 42” TV in the main living room. The home is a perfect setting for beach fire memories cooking smores and is gated for the safety of young children and pets from possible traffic.


Commute: The home is located seven miles from the Clinton-Mukilteo ferry landing. The ferry generally runs every 30 minutes on the hour from 6 am to midnight (however, please check the ferry schedule for specific times).

Boat: A boat launches can be found throughout Whidbey Island. A canoe is available on site for use upon complete release of liability.

Golf: Island Greens – A famous 9 hole custom built par 3 course that is very kid and dog friendly located less than one mile away from the home on French Road. Useless Bay Golf and Country Club – An 18 hole private golf course/club that provides reciprocal access available for private club members. Holmes Harbor – 18 hole public golf course located approximately 7 miles from the home.

Birthday Weekend at the Beach
Absolutely beautiful sunny April weekend on Whidbey and it was made completely perfect with a wonderful and seamless stay at Ella’s Beach House. This home was immaculate, comfortable, fully stocked, and right on the water boasting a view of pristine sunsets! This home allowed the right amount of space and access to all outdoor beach activities as well as creating a cozy and warm environment for evening dinners and family time. Our daughter’s birthday weekend with friends and family was made perfect by staying at Ella’s Beach House. It is beautiful and we are looking forward to staying again!

Just perfect from check in to check out. Ror had this home set up for a couple like my wife and I or for 12 person groups, with one of everything plus much much more. Great location and beach to explore. Too many eagles to count flying by and wonderful beach fires. We’ll be back again for our fourth stay.

Hawaii at Maxwelton
The private community beach was just what we needed. Relaxed right away and had a full week of sun and breeze. We hosted a barbecue on the spacious deck for a few family members and all were impressed. The comfortable beds and lovely interior helped us enjoy.

Perfect Beach House
Our extended family loved this house and would move in tomorrow given half a chance :) !! The house is literally on the beach and so quiet we barely saw anyone the entire weekend. Everything you could possible need is provided - it really does feel like home. Dinner on the deck with sunset as a backdrop, and waking up to the view from the master bedroom were the highlights for me. Thanks for a memorable stay!

Wonderful Whidbey
Perfect spot for an easy getaway from Seattle. Everything about our stay was perfect. Our kids were able to do remote learning and would run out back door to play on the beach during breaks and after "school." House was clean, well stocked, and the communication with the owner was the best I've experienced in all my rental experiences. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us!

Third Time Continues to Be the Charm
Coming to the beach house for a week has become a family tradition. This year we used it to celebrate our 50 years of marriage. We hired a photographer to take family photos on the beach. It was a magical time for all of us.

Wonderful retreat
The house and location is amazing. Everything was very clean and the house is furnished to welcome you for your stay. The kitchen is well stocked. Ror was great to walk us trough everything and was always available for questions. It was such wonderful retreat from the world watching the ships go by and the sun set behind the mountains. Perfect on our stormy week!
The home is perfectly situated on the water. Windows cover the front of the home and we enjoyed the view watching the storms roll in and out and the seagulls breaking shells. The kitchen is well equipped and we found everything we needed. All of the bedrooms are upstairs and all with comfortable beds. The home has beautiful finishes and comfortable furniture. We felt pampered staying here and would definitely come again.

Beautiful home & oceanfront property
Just wanted to share our recent experience at this incredible oceanfront property. Picture this: waking up to the soothing sound of waves, sipping coffee with a breathtaking view, and feeling the ocean breeze on your face – pure bliss! The custom home was cozy. If you're all about a good night's sleep, this place will not disappoint. The only "person" who loved it more than us was our golden retriever. She loved swimming in the ocean. Highly recommend for some serious relaxation and lovely long walks on the beach.

Great PNW getaway
This is a beautiful home and a terrific location. Since it's western facing you can enjoy the sunsets and can partake in long walks along the beach during low tide. If you have little ones (or even adults) they will enjoy digging or searching for creatures during low tide. In the evening you can enjoy a fire along the beach when it's a bit chillier. All in all the host was awesome and the property was impeccable. It's a great house for a group or it's nice for a single family. The 'secret' closets were also a big hit with the 5 year old!

Honeymoon Heaven
I've stayed here before with my nieces and their boyfriends for one of their 30th birthdays. We had the best stay ever and could not wait to come back. My oldest niece got married recently and I knew it would be so hectic but fun winding up to the wedding. So I thought it would be nice for her and her new husband to have a place to unwind after the 3-day celebration. The home could not be more lovely, homey, and comfy. And the location right on the water, and water views from every living space are wonderful. They loved their decompression time spent here. Thanks to the owners... you are the best!

A Seaside Sanctuary!
Ror and Lori’s place is truly exceptional. The house was spotless, stocked with everything (and more) that you could imagine and the location is unbeatable. My sister and I took our Mom for her 80th Birthday. She has been extremely sick and wanted to spend some time at the beach staring at the water, watching the birds, seals, boats… one last time. This home couldn’t have been a better place to do it. The views are spectacular from the whole lower level and the primary bedroom (where our Mom stayed). Our days were filled with beach combing, walks in the neighborhood, visits to nearby Langley and Freeland, and sitting on the large deck watching the Herons fish right in front of the house! Such a fun time! Ror and Lori are great communicators and thoughtful hosts. It’s obvious that this home is their special place as well. My sister and I hope to come back again in the future! Thank you, Ror and Lori, for sharing your home!

One of the best on West Whidbey Island
We’ve stayed in many VRBO homes. This one was superior. Extremely clean and well organized. No clutter, but EXTREMELY well stocked. We have learned to travel with knives, foil, paper towels, shampoo, etc. You don’t need to bring anything but your food and personal belongings. The gourmet kitchen was amazing and had everything you could possibly need to cook or grill. The deck is partially covered and a perfect spot for viewing bald eagles and watching ships pass. We lived in the family room and deck the entire 4 days, going upstairs to sleep only. There is a full bath on main floor also. The owner was genuine and thoughtful leaving a nice gift for us on arrival AND I mixed up our departure date and we left 2 hours after check out thanks to the owner very graciously texting me. You will not be disappointed in this rental on the beach! One of the best on the western shores of Whidbey.

This property was the perfect place to celebrate my 70th birthday with my husband and four of my closest friends for a full week. Now I know why all of the reviews are so positive. It’s the place that we would build if we could move to this area. It’s perfectly stocked in the kitchen and all areas —and my husband is a picky person when it comes to the kitchen. If you come here, stop by the house before buying groceries as it’s well stocked with condiments and more. The place is well-built and quiet. We saw maybe six people (or the same two) in seven days. Note that the third bathroom is downstairs, which still worked for three couples to each have their own bathroom. GREAT linens. My birthday wish was to see an eagle. We saw them everyday! It was almost as if they posed for us. Ror, the owner, was quick to respond when we had questions even from the very beginning of booking this reservation. Trust me, this is the place you want to be if you’d like to enjoy a waterfront property vacation. We can’t wait to return! Mr. & Mrs. John C.
