Yakima Riverfront Cabin

If you're looking to get away for a weekend or week, this all-season two-level cabin mountain cabin has plenty of space and amenities needed for a wonderful stay. Located in the Heart of the Cascades, your retreat is situated on a 1-acre, wooded lot close to Interstate 90, with private access to the beautiful upper Yakima River!

Indoors, you will find an open floor plan with floor-to-ceiling windows that let you admire the forest views. Enjoy the convenience of ample amenities and technology including a full kitchen, two bathrooms, a washer/dryer, high-speed WiFi, a smart TV and a DVD player for entertainment (bring your own movies), and comfortable sleeping arrangements - all while maintaining a rustic, cabin feel. With a variety of games, books, puzzles, cards, and a bumper pool table that converts into a felt card table, there is plenty of fun to be had.

Outside, there are furnished front and back decks with a BBQ for outdoor dining, and a lawn for games. On occasion, you can spot wandering deer or wild turkeys. You will also have direct access to the river from the property, just 300 feet from the cabin down a lovely, wooded path.

In the summer, enjoy ample activities on-site including rafting (bring tubes and rafts if you want to float) and fly fishing (be sure to keep a permit handy). Come winter, you can enjoy the riverfront firepit for marshmallow roasting. Or, perhaps you want to sit and see if you can spot the resident herd of elk and other wildlife.

Nearby, you can hike The Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail, spend a day on the water at Lake Easton State Park, or take in the farmers market and outdoor concert series in Roslyn. Mountain lakes, the Washington State Horse Park, Suncadia Resort, multiple golf courses, and wine tasting are all nearby, so there is something for everyone. Downhill skiing, tubing, and Nordic skiing are a short drive away at Snoqualmie Summit. The winter months are also fantastic for snowmobiling and snowshoeing. Take a 2-hour drive to Mission Ridge Ski & Board Resort for some drier snow and bigger terrain, or visit the Bavarian village of Leavenworth.

THINGS TO KNOW
The kitchen is ready for all of your cooking, baking, and beverage needs and includes a refrigerator with ice-maker, stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, a full selection of pots and pans, dishware, serving ware, coffee maker and mini-Keurig, crockpot, toaster, and assorted cooking and baking utensils. A refurbished buffet/bar is well stocked with assorted wine and cocktail glasses for those special celebrations. You don’t need to bring a thing except your food! (Safeway is just 10 minutes away in Cle Elum.)
In the winter, we try to keep the driveway plowed and the stairs shoveled before you arrive, but snow can be unpredictable so 4-wheel drive is always a good thing in the mountains in the winter. A snow shovel and snow-melting salt are available just inside the breezeway door if it snows while you are there.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.

Great cabin
We really ecjoyed the stay. Very clean. Nice firepits outside. Very comfortable beds. We cooked thanksgiving dinner and everything we neddrd was there. The inside fireplace is closed for guests. We do like an inside fire so this was a bit sad for us. We would rent this cabin again as everything else was fantastic.

Liked the privacy and assess to the river. One minor thing is that kleenex in the house could be a plus, I stayed in the first floor and stole towels from the other bathroom because they were nicer and couldn't find others. Could be a minus if more people rented because there wasn't more not locked up. Would rent again even though it is close to the freeway. Thanks for your support help also, Rebooting helped start the internet.

Older cabin that needs updating!
Unfortunately our stay began with an unclean cabin. The entryway hasn’t been cleaned in sometime & entering the cabin smelled worse than your best friend’s grandparents place. Crumbs on counters, dirt, dead flies, sticky residue on the floors, stained rugs, towels that need to be replaced. Too bad since the location is great & the outdoor space on the river is well done. It definitely needs some updating, tightening of the stair railing and it’s much darker than the pictures show. Wi-fi was sketchy, but TV was great! Vacasa did reimburse us for the cleaning fee, however the price we paid was not equal to the level of accommodations we would expect.

Beautiful place!
Beautiful place, well equipped, lovely view and backyard for some snow sledding. Our kids love it and so do we! Make sure you bring eye mask if you are used to sleep in pitch darkness - as the upstairs rooms don’t have doors and let the sunlight come in in the morning. Will come back again.

Loved the cabin
The cabin was beautiful and despite the fact that it was over 100 outside the cabin stayed relatively comfortable. It never got over 85 inside and by bedtime it was comfortable enough without air-conditioning.

Weekend getaway
Good overall… the spatulas, etc are old … in fact the whisk is rusted and ick…. Bathrooms clean and plenty of towels, enough bedding , good laundry facilities and nice location ….. great yard and fire pit and river access…. This place is old …. About 1960-70 by the feel …. Not swanky but comfortable and clean …. Neighborhood has the feeling of not welcome to strangers/visitors but cabin was welcoming….. after one walk we kept to ourselves with no more long walks

Overall Nice Experience
Overall we had a pleasant experience. A few things didn't live up to our expectation (level of cleaning for the price point of additional cleaning fees, online pictures of interior downstairs are misleading as the coloring is far darker than what is pictured and not as spacious as represented). But there were a few lovely surprises in the pleasant walk to the river, grassy area to enjoy at the river, watching the bats come out at night, and a short walk up the main road is a place to put in tubes at the river and float down to the cabin. Neighbors in the area are very aware of who lives in the area and who does not. When at the river, we were asked by two different neighbors who we were/where we were staying. We answered calmly and kindly and didn't have a problem when we had the 'correct' answer. However, a guest at a different property that we didn't know did not like being asked by the neighbor and pushed back at the question-which the neighbor then escalated by shouting at the guest and causing an uncomfortable scene. Kitchen was fairly well stocked. You'll want to pack oil and bring your own spices, but other than that you could pretty much find whatever you needed or make it work. Having a dishwasher was amazing! We loved not having internet, and having space to play games was really fun. $20-25 at a thrift store to update/upgrade a few of the games would take it from really nice to perfect. It was overall a quiet, pleasant week.

Short getaway
Nice little weekend getaway. We had wanted access to water, and it was nice to have a place on the river. The current was far too strong off of the shore of the property to casually hang out in (extremely dangerous for small children), but the river is shallow enough for an adult to walk across. We also dropped into the river about a mile or so up the road at the park with a boat launch and did a short river float back to property, which was really nice.

A few probably from the family before us nothing too gross, just look like typical kid stuff couple candy wrappers, etc. Linens and towels were clean beds were nice , A little trouble finding the location, listing was not super accurate as far as location, but the overall feel of the cabin exceeded our expectations, fireplace was great roomy, wonderful views of everything, quiet neighborhood, private trail To the river was nice
