Family Getaway
We had a really enjoyable long weekend with our kids and grandkids - they loved the house and the fire pit. Everything was very clean and organized - we could have used a little better lighting in the kitchen when cooking - but it did not keep us from having a great time. It was a terrific place to come home to after sightseeing all day. We hope to be able to enjoy this cabin again one day soon

Great property for a group
Great secluded location and plenty of space for a group to stay for a bit. Our 10 year old loved that there was games, books and the wii. It was super nice having access to a washer and dryer as we definitely used them. Basement layout was perfect for a small family although the bed wasn't comfortable it served it's purpose. Owner was great with communicating! Would definitely stay again!

Cozy and away from it all. Definitely recommend if you want peace and quiet. Mammoth Cave is an easy drive. Cell phone connectivity is spotty so be prepared for that.

Beautiful property - rather isolated
Property was very nice. Roomy and well stocked. Great if you want something very remote - it is really in the middle of nowhere! Disappointed that there really was no lake view and access was very muddy path with no dock or swimming. Had a wonderful experience renting a boat at the Wax Marina - highly recommended! Host was easy to communicate with

Great place with lots of space!!
We really enjoyed our stay and enjoyed sitting in the back deck in the morning. However, at night some of the rooms were dark since there were only lamps to use. Can sleep a lot of people and with three bathrooms can get ready quickly. Great place to rent and would highly recommmend it!!!!

Nice stay at Logsdon Landing
The cabin was nice for 6 adults. To say it is a cabin on a lake is a stretch. We were not able to get to the nice cove recommend due to a tree blocking access. The other access was pretty grown up with weeds. The marina was close so we rented a pontoon for a day which was nice. Mammoth cave was close too so we spent time there as well as Bowling Green. Spending time with family in the cabin was great. Tony was easy to reach if we needed anything.

Nice cabin in the wods
Very comfortable and serene setting. We did think the lake was closer though since the title reads "Lakefront Log Cabin". It is not "Lakefront". It is about a 5 minute walk.

awesome place!
Stayed there for four days and loved it. Quiet private property with 4 bedrooms, three baths and a great overall home. Clean and crisp..visited the corvette museum and mammoth cave while there. Loves the country roads and scenery.. great fir pit.. camp fires every night. Had to hunt for our own wood. . Beautiful! .. from plainfield Illinois. .

Plenty of space!
This is a great rustic cabin. Check in was easy.. directions were accurate. It is about a 40 minute drive to all the Mammoth Cave activities, but quiet and peaceful. There is no internet. There are 3 full bathrooms; however, you can only flush toilet paper in one of them… not ideal for anyone, but especially if you have kids in your party.. not sure knowing that would have changed our plans, but feel it’s good to know on the front end. Kitchen is well equipped. Plenty of towels and wash cloths for our group of 7. Tons of games and dvds available for use.

Beautiful Cabin in the Woods
We loved the rustic cabin feel. It was very quiet there. I was very happy to see the kitchen fully stocked with good pots and pans (no peeling non-stick pans) and good knives. We were looking forward to doing some grilling however, and noticed on the reservation papers that there was a charcoal grill at the cabin and to bring charcoal. Unfortunately, there was no charcoal grill. There was a gas grill but the gas tank was empty. Also, 2 of the bedrooms upstairs did not have curtains, which was uncomfortable. There are little things that could be done to make the cabin cozier: curtains in all the bedrooms, charcoal grill or gas tank filled, and also more blankets. Other than these things, it was a beautiful cabin in a very nice area. We enjoyed our time here!

Family Vacation at the lake
Three generations of family, 8 adults, 3 children, 2 dogs. Good times, Made Good Memories. Ate together, played together, spent time at the lake. Nice lake. Few minutes walk from cabin, no beach front but still able to access lake via path to swim and fish. When you trek to the lake, the bugs are real. Plan accordingly. You're in the woods. Real woods. Ticks are bad all over this year. No exception at lake Nolin. Just be prepared. Not something your host can do for you. Place was clean. Good places to sleep for our entire crew. Plenty of bathrooms and showers for our needs. We heeded to warnings regarding treating the plumbing kindly and had no issues. If you need civilization it's 15-20 minutes away including a Walmart. Number of touristy things to do in the area as well. What else could you need. Place was as described and worked well for our family vacation. Like I said, we made good memories.

Can’t flush, can’t sit in the chairs and can’t find the lake.
The location was lovely, the size of the cabin was good, but the directions to the lake were not clear and we ended up following the path that smelled of sewage. Obviously we didn’t know we wouldn’t be able to flush any toilet paper. With 4 kids, we would have made a different choice. Someone had to be on “potty duty” all weekend. The kitchen chairs were so wobbly that we couldn’t sit on them. One had the seat completely detached. My 3yrold granddaughter fell through. The place was just not clean. The laundry room, the downstairs bathroom were just dirty. I cleaned out the frig and wiped down the kitchen before we unloaded the food. The place has a ton of charm but I won’t be able to recommend it to friends and family members.

Wonderful family getaway
We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. We came for spring break and stayed for 4 nights. The beds were comfortable, linens clean, and there’s plenty of room. We loved the fireplace and playing outside. It is very secluded, although there are going to be more properties built and construction is underway already. There was some construction traffic on the private road over the weekend. The reasons I did not give five stars are minor. The wood floors are very loud and squeaky on the upper level- like beyond normal wood floor noise. There are some things that need repair - light fixtures, wall holes, etc. The pots and pans in the kitchen are not adequate as the nonstick coating is very scratched and worn so many of them can not be used. There was basically one pan that was acceptable, so this was a bummer, since I typically cook all our meals when we are away. There were several cigarette butts all over the property outside, so we had to be careful that our dogs did not eat them. Overall we really enjoyed our time and would stay here again. It is a fabulous cabin experience - very cozy, comfortable, quiet/secluded, and spacious.

Worse rental experience
This lake house was a epic fail. More than half of our group would not even stay there because of the overrun of spiders. . When we arrived it looked like we were probably the first guest of the season and no one came to check the cabin before we arrived we literally had to clean the whole place inside and out before we could even enjoy it. My husband stayed on the phone for almost 24 hours between emails and calls and on hold. and the best that you guys could come up with for us, after dealing with this for 24 hours, that you was going to give us two hotel rooms for 10 guests , which would not have worked, of course.and we had already spent $600 in groceries so there will be nowhere to put the groceries some of us sucked it up and stayed. But quite frankly it was a miserable situation you couldn't even go outside for all the bugs and there was no lake entrance at all when my brother-in-law went down to find the lake to fish he got attacked by ticks. we had got a small refund which was ridiculous and more of an insult than anything since more of our guest didn't stay then did. We have used you guys several times to get other cabins in the same area but honestly we will definitely probably think seriously about not using you guys again. Not that it's your fault how the cabin was but I feel that you guys should have moved us to a place that would hold all of our guests or full refund. Very disappointed guest all the way around

FAR OFF THE BEATEN PATH, NO LAKE ACCESS, HOT BEDROOM UPSTAIRS
I booked this cabin for a Kentucky adventure to Mammoth Cave Park. While the house uses this park in their key words, it is NOT close to the park. The weather when we went (7/27-7/31) was VERY HOT. Unfortunately the upstairs bedrooms were VERY HOT. I reached out to tony who responded immediately. He told us to look for the vents in the bedrooms (he had no idea where they were) and open them. They were on the ceiling & we opened them, sadly this didn’t fix the problem. In order for the upstairs to be comfortable, the thermostat needed to be set at 65 degrees, which made the main floor ABSOLUTELY FREEZING. Which was NOT enjoyable at all. Additionally, the lake access is a joke. The maze like directions listed do NOT get you to the lake. There is a down tree that blocks the route with swimming access. The second option takes you through PRIVATE PROPERTY, & while you do get to the lake, it’s for boat access, not swimming. We chatted with the neighbors & they told us many renters of this house get upset because they can’t find the lake & when they do, it’s for boats. The neighbors are frustrated the owners won’t pay the $25 fee for a DIRECT PATH from their house to the lake (this would involve the owners to clear a path, which clearly is too much of an inconvenience). The neighbors said they have offered to help, but the owners won’t do the right thing. Lastly, you are asked to do a good amount of cleaning before checking out. Yet you pay a descent sum a cleaning service?!?!

property was ok but issues
When we arrived, we were greeted by a swarm of horseflies, fine (its the woods in August). We wanted a bit off the grid. There was also a gray cat on the front porch. We had to walk our bags to the back door because the cat wanted to come inside. The moment the front door opened the cat was trying to get in. The cat was obviously in distress and meowing when following us. I called owners and their response was to throw water on the cat to make it go away. Nothing we did would deter the animal. It could jump to the upper level porch and did so whenever it heard our voices. It would meow continuously so we were unable to enjoy the fire pit or porch. We contacted animal control and a local shelter and neither would help us. We contacted owners who said they would send someone but that never happened. We had moved our trip up a day and they accommodated us but did not tell the cleaning service so our beds were unmade and the service woke us all at 6:30 am the day after we arrived. We wrote a text to say no one ever dealt with the cat and received no response. After returning home, I texted again and was told I was distasteful for texting at 10:30 and they are not responsible for "wildlife". Our issues were not addressed appropriately. I've stayed at multiple vrbo's and had wonderful experiences. This was the first that I felt "ripped off". We went there to be in the outdoors and couldn't do so because a starving animal was either sitting on my car or either of the porches. Their response was that how can we not deal with a cat. Well, because it caused great anxiety for my daughters and I to see this animal in pain. They knew the animal was there because they had dealt with it 2 weeks prior. Very disappointed.

I really didn't want to leave a negative review but....................
I sincerely didn't want to leave a negative review. I don't want to be one of those people that "nit picks". However I sent the owner a text message with my concerns and he seemingly ignored it. A week has almost passed and no response-- So here is what we experienced. The check in instructions state there is a key in a lock box. We arrive at the cabin and the lock box is empty (no key). I called the owner and he tells me there is a tree near a shed that has a "back up" key. We spend the next 20-30 minutes wondering around in the woods looking for this lock box ----doesn't exist. It apparently had been there at one time...but is now gone. Sent him a pic of where it was....he acknowledge that was where it was at one time. We were good natured about it and took it on as a scavenger hunt. If this had been at night or in the rain....different outcome. He instructs us to take a credit card to the back door and open it. We didn't even have to use the card. A slight shove with our hip and the door flies open. There were 6 ladies in our group and we did not feel safe there the whole weekend. Very poor security. I had read in a previous review there were wolf spiders in the basement. I had expressed my concerns previous to renting and was assured---no spiders. The basement is infested with them. I realize the cabin is in the woods.---but I have rented many cabins located in the woods and have never had an issue. The television didn't work and when we texted the owner he responded a couple of hours later and said that they knew there was a problem as there was one the last time they were there. Really? Very musty smelling in the cabin....I have a cloth Vera Bradley bag and I'm not sure if I will ever get that smell out of it. The cabin is very lovely and cozy----needs some more light in the kitchen. We loved the wood stove. We overall had a great time there---we are a pretty easy going bunch --- but we won't be renting there again.
