Lovely cottage on beautiful estate
We were a group of 7 staying (4 adults, 3 children) for 3 nights. The cottage had everything we could need. There are 2 bedrooms perfectly set up for kids with the other 2 for adults. The bathrooms were decent and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need and more, although some cupboard space to store our food would have been nice. The outdoor dining space was very peaceful and pretty although a little overlooked.
The estate is beautiful and the cottage is very close to the activity hub, spa, pool, tennis courts, playgrounds and restaurant. Table tennis and tennis equipment hire was very cheap but be quick to book the tennis courts as by the time we went to book they were fully booked for the week!
A couple of pointers for others staying on the estate:
- The spa is wonderful! Two of us went for a head massage which was reasonably priced and very relaxing - highly recommend!
- The pool is fantastic. It was the highlight of the trip for our kids.
- The restaurant / bar has good quality food & drinks but we found the service to be painfully slow. We went for lunch when we arrived, there were only 2 other tables eating and we waited over half an hour for each course. Make sure you book if you want to have dinner there. We’d recommend The Bakers Arms pub, a 15 min walk away. Great food, great service and there’s a pizza oven in the garden.
- We found that the on site shop was severely lacking in basics so make sure to bring everything with you!
