Chulmleigh is a desirable hill top village with a bustling centre of shops, restaurants and pubs. The popular market town of South Molton has a weekly farmers’ market and a variety of shops, antique and curio shops, pubs and restaurants. There is an 18-hole, par 3 golf course 2 minutes’ walk from the property, and two further, large 18-hole courses can be found within a 10-minute drive. Barnstaple, 12 miles, has a theatre, cinema and leisure activities, and places of interest include the Museum of North Devon, Pannier Market, 14th-century St Anne’s Chapel and the 18th-century Queen Anne’s Walk.
Other family attractions in the area include the RHS Gardens at Rosemoor, The Big Sheep and Milky Way amusement parks, Exmoor Zoo and Dinosaur Park. Spectacular beaches at Saunton, Croyde, Putsborough, Woolacombe and Westward Ho! are all within easy driving distance for sailing and windsurfing, and there is fishing at Tamar and Wimbleball Lakes.
