Perfect pet friendly beach getaway located right off Ridge Rd., close to restaurants and shopping. This quaint cottage offers all the amenities, with bright, open rooms, perfect for a comfortable vacation. This house has a large screened porch, outside shower and fire pit on the patio.Been working hard over the cold months to make Josie's Getaway as perfect as ever. We listen to your comments and are always looking to improve our cottage. For 2025 we have New Queen Mattress, Recushioned sofa and new deck furniture . LINENS AND TOWELS ARE PROVIDED WITH THIS PROPERTY. Please ask about our cancelation policy. 60-day cancellation prior to occupancy date (100% refund minus processing fee, travel insurance and credit card fee's). Pet friendly home $75. (per pet) will be added to your reservation. 2 dog maximum. only. 2 night minimum in off Season.

Cozy and comfortable
Very neat and clean and lovely decor! Centrally located to everything so that we could go back and forth. Found an additional road to walk the dogs today. Quiet neighborhood and we were able to take advantage of many of the activities even though it is still early in the season.

Josie’s was very clean and beautifully appointed with a very appropriate beach and pony theme! It worked out well for 3 adults and 2 dogs. There were several neighborhood cats that kept the dogs entertained along with an occasional deer and squirrel! Next time I would reserve directly through Harbor Rentals and save a little $$!

The sofas are very uncomfortable and worn out it’s difficult to sit on them especially if you have back and knee problems. And the TV channels are not good at all. We couldn’t even get local news!

The house was fine, clean and well cared for, but the location was pretty bad if you have a dog to walk. We had to drive to a trail twice a day because there was no place to walk her near or around this house.

The only issue we had was that the outdoor shower may need looked at since the flow was very slow, however, that definitely would not deter me from booking again. The washer and dryer were great to have to be able to wash clothes and towels after the beach.

We were there in the offseason, but the weather was mild and perfect for enjoying the screened porch. Our family loved the swing on the porch. The location was pretty quiet but still an easy bike ride to the beach. The owner left us an incredibly thoughtful care package featuring items from local businesses - which we then went to check out. We had a great week and would go back in a heart beat.

It was clean and welcoming. The owners , Jaye and Jodi, make you feel like family. Josie’s Getaway definitely feels like home! From the well stocked kitchen to the little free library, Josie’s is so stress free. The porch with swing is so charming and our family loves the fire pit. Beach themed with pony books and pictures, this house is a gem! Truly one of the best places to stay on the island! Our family loves and recommends Josie’s Getaway- 100%!

And all the details they put into their guests experience from having indoor and outdoor games, beach chairs, the adored porch bed which is great for afternoon naps, and the welcome bag! We LOVE Chincoteague and have for many years, this house will be one we stay in again for sure! The only suggestion is to upgrade the queen mattress. Aside from that everything was wonderful and felt like home.

It’s definitely our favorite. It’s clean and it’s pet friendly. The homeowner really appreciates the guests. I appreciate that the house is well equipped with everything we need to be comfortable for the week. Linens and towels are provided, even beach towels. This homeowner really tries to think of all the needs from a renters point of view. On an island where there are so many places to stay, this one is such a great option. We call this home our home away from home. We treat it like it’s our home and we even know some of the full time neighbors now. It’s a 10 out of 10 for our family.

This cottage was very clean and so beautifully appointed and decorated in a very appropriate beach and pony theme. The kitchen was well stocked with all the basic necessities plus more to make for a comfortable stay. The bedrooms were welcoming with comfortable beds and plenty of closet and drawer space. The bathrooms, too, were very clean and comfortable. The weather allowed us to enjoy the screened in back porch and the backyard furniture as well as a morning cup of coffee on the front porch. The neighborhood was quiet and felt very safe. This rental was a wonderful find and we would definitely return if/when we visit Chincoteague again!
