2/10 Terrible

I wish we could upload images here because words cannot possibly paint an adequate picture of how disgusting our room was. We were in town for my daughter’s sport competition being held at the local HS here in Chiefland, home of only a Days Inn and a Quality Inn. Both were equally priced (and equally unappealing) but Days Inn had availability so we booked it at a rate of $138/night.
We opened the door and the regret hit me, almost as quickly as the smell of the dog pee that was soaked into the laminate flooring.
Every step further into the room was like a nightmare…roach poop in the drawers, strange stains all over the lamp shades and curtains (curtains btw, that don’t fully cover the window that faces directly into the parking lot where a large group of lurking men were hanging out for half the night). The bathroom was worse…a h*llscape of other people’s loose hairs clinging to tiles, toilet lid, and shower. At least they were a distraction from, what I can only describe as the crap caked shower head, random dirt spots and let’s say, “other smears” on the walls and door.
As I popped a sleep aid in the hopes of speeding up time and checking out as early as possible, I realize that the 3 “bed” pillows they provided on the queen sized bed were actually old small, square, lumpy couch pillows thrown into pillow cases. We left feeling Dazed Inn-confused about how this establishment is even passing minimum heath & safety codes. Rent an air bnb if you ever have to visit this town.
