"The is a lovely little in, ideal for a short stop-over. The staff in the pub were extremely welcoming, it has a great atmosphere, and the food was outstanding. The only down side is, the room I stayed in is next to a commercial site which has bright spotlights, this means that even with the curtains closed the room wasn't overly dark. Also the bed wasn't that comfortable, so I didn't sleep very well. Overall a pleasant stay, and possibly somewhere I would consider for a future stay."

"We had roooms in the converted stables and they were great. The accessible room was perfect for someone with poor mobility. The food was good, but the service in the restaurant was extremely slow, waiting almost an hour after ordering for cereal and croissants for breakfast. However, the staff were lovely and very apologetic. "

"Lovely place, friendly staff. Delicious food and breakfast. Room comfortable, my only minor issue was the sound of the air/con heating unit outside, but i am a light sleeper! Apart from that pretty much perfect! "

"The communal areas are delightful...wood panelled rooms, squashy sofas and a huge open fire. The room was small but was advertised as such and was fine for just the 1 night. Very comfortable bed with lovely white crisp linen. The welcome brownies were also lovely. The room was only lit by lamps, so the lighting was very low that meant I was unable to read in the room. Breakfast was good. The customer service was efficient but lacked warmth...the bar staff/ waiters were fine but didn't smile or...

"We only stayed a night which really wasn’t long enough. The accommodation is at the back of the pub and it is clear a lot of thought has gone into it and it has paid off. We ate there in the evening and the food was excellent as was breakfast. Service is spot on too. Great base for surrounding area, we went to Hauser and Wirth which is only 10 minutes away. "

"A very pleasant village pub, in an interesting and historic village. The room, on the top floor, was spacious, with a decent bathroom. What was lacking in the room was decent lighting: a single, low-powered LED filament bulb was completely inadequate if you wanted to sit and read. Although breakfast choices were very good, service was slow on both mornings. All in all, rather pricey for the accommodation & service provided."
