We loved every second
The beds were a bit uncomfortable but apart from that it’s a lovely place to stay and we would definitely go back

My Happy Place
It was a joy to return to Candy Corner once again. The perfect holiday home in the perfect location for myself, my children and our visiting friends. So close to the beach, adorable local shops, cafes, pubs and activities. Candy Corner is a clean, welcoming home from home and has all that you need for a family holiday. We can’t wait to go back next year.
Property was pleasant all round. Nice garden. Entrance to drive too narrow through double gates. VRBO customer service was shockingly bad. They listed a different address on my confirmation and still haven’t got back to me even though our stay has now finished! Luckily the estate agent handling the property was on hand on a Sunday which was the day before our stay started.

Comfortable Bungalow
Candy Corner is well appointed, comfortable and a great accommodation for four people. It sleeps six, with two beds in a separate building, but occupants would need to walk outside to enter the main house to use the bathroom and toilet. Kitchen was well equipped. Lounge was spacious with comfortable chairs, settee and dining table. TV had Freeview channels and was easy to use. Bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable and there was good storage space in the wardrobe and chest of drawers. The front garden and off street parking was spacious. It’s an easy walk to the pebble beach but you need to drive to reach West Wittering beach which is a beautiful, with a wide stretch of sand, ideal for families and dog walks. Overall, very good value for money and we would recommend for a family of four.

In need of TLC
The property has good accessibility to beach and village shopping. It is light and airy with a good amount of land surrounding it so it feels more private. There are many features in the property that require some TLC and updating as they either do not work properly or are too uncomfortable.
The bed mattresses are really very old on 2 of the beds and might pass for children bit not for adults.
The sofa is dire it’s hard and uncomfortable so not really suitable for sitting on any length of time.
The two chairs provided are modern office type chairs with a reclined angle and were ok comfort wise to sit in but impossible to get out of.
There were 4 of the 6 dinning room chairs that had either wobbly unstable legs or broken backs making them unsafe to sit on.
Apart from these major updates required the fittings such as light switches, curtain fixings and window attachments and blind controls all need some attention.
There is no carpeting in the property it’s parki flooring which also needs some life and Lino.
With some TLC this could be a very nice little property at present I felt that the amount that was charged was not appropriate to the facilities provided

Needs a good clean and painting
This a a lovely property and in a great location, it is let down by the cleanliness and the most uncomfortable furniture ever! We were out for most of the day, but it does need an update, painting and new furniture. Close to beach, shops and great pubs which serve lovely food. The garden is at the front with low walls, if you have a dog not the most secure

Great Location
We booked for the location--an easy 5-minute stroll down to the beach. You can for miles along the beach, west to Bracklesham or east to East Head (a gorgeous spot). A 5-minute stroll also to the shops/cafes in East Wittering including a well-stocked Co-op. Bus stop a few minutes walk away, can hop on to go to Chichester and farther afield. The house itself is spacious with a large garden and nice outside seating areas, in a very quiet residential street. Good internet which is a plus. A little outdated in terms of decor but comfortable enough for a short stay, and clean, and really it's all about proximity to the beach. Would book again!
Great location, very close to the beach. Good size and the front garden is nice for sitting out in.
Definitely not the cleanest rental we've stayed in - bedding and towels were fine, but the floor, surfaces and utensils should have been cleaner.
The other thing to note is the house is managed by an agent so it's a different experience to staying in a rental where the owners are on site. Not necessarily a bad thing, but you don't get the local advice, supplies etc.

Perfect location, but a few issues.
On arrival we were very pleased with location, perfect for beach & village. The garden looked perfect for the dogs but we had to secure the gate with a wheelie bin wedged against it as the lock was mssing. Very inconvenient every time you drove the cars in & out. The kitchen was well very equipped with lots of handy additions and a thoughtful welcome pack. The courtyard was very handy for sitting in when the front garden proved too windy. The bedding was very clean and good quality and beds comfortable. We knew about the garden room having no house access and one of our party was happy to stay there but it proved to be a flimsy structure which meant you could hear the wind & rain etc which did not make for easy sleeping. Overall we really enjoyed our stay but feel the furniture could definately do with some updating.

Candy Corner
This cottage is very basic - the kitchen is more like a galley kitchen while The main sitting room is uninspiring and over-furnished. The outdoor dining area doesn’t really serve its intended purpose and is more of a drying area.
The bedrooms are decent although it’s a pity that there’s no toilet in the annex.
Great location but at this price point i would expect a better overall package.

We had a lovely stay at Candy Corner.
However, as it was in February I was surprised that the heating had not been put in prior to our arrival. It took hours to warm the bungalow up. The duvet cover in bedroom 1 had streaks of brown on the underneath. The wifi was helpful but needs to be stronger.
We had everything we needed in this lovely house. Spotlessly clean. Close to the beach, we loved staying there and will be back.

Candy Cottage, close by the sea.
A short break in January, wanted somewhere close to the sea and this fitted the bill perfectly. Not right on the seashore but only a couple of minutes walk to the beach. Shingle at high tide but vast sand area when the tide was out. Only 10 minute walk to the village pub/shops. House was in good condition and all equipment/linen was provided. Would definitely book again if going to this area.

Good location but very poor property.
The property was very disappointing. This is the 7th property we have rented this year and by far in the worst condition. I hesitate to use the word but it was filthy. The dirt under chairs, tables and beds was pretty disgusting. The dining table still had the remains of a previous tenant's meal on it.The bedding smelt and felt damp.
There were numerous dead insects in many of the rooms including the bathroom and cloakroom.
The cloakroom, although having a towel rail and towel, does not have a sink to wash your hands. The kettle is so furred up the boiled water for a hot drink is just not drinkable so we had to buy in bottled water to use.
But the property is well placed for the beach....the only saving grace.
Would definitely not recommend booking this property unless there is a major overhaul and full clean.

family get together at the Witterings
The location so close to the coast was brilliant for us - no parking worries or costs and lunches freshly made and brought to the 'beach'. Whilst there is no soft sand, the sea and wet sand make for perfect games (although not sandcastles as my 2 granddaughters pointed out). The cottage is not quite equipped for 6 but not so we didn't thoroughly enjoy our stay.

A nicely positioned bungalow
The bungalow was well equipped and comfy, very close to the beach, the only down side is the place felt damp and there was patches of mould in bathroom hall and main bedroom.

Kitchen needs an extractor fan.
Kitchen was very small needed an extractor fan in the kitchen as the fire alarm kept going off. The small room outside needs a toilet as there is no where to go if you need the toilet in the middle of the night.
