Beautiful historic building and great location. Have been coming here since I was a little girl. While everything is clean and staff is wonderful, everything is old and showing wear. Not talking about fixtures and furniture - towels were threadbare, bedspread shabby, carpets worn. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will be back.

The Drake is a Grand Dame venue: wide hallways, spacious rooms, upscale toiletries, smooth sheets, vast lake views, gracious staff, sparkling chandeliers, burgeoning floral arrangements. Just a few feet off the Mag Mile, The Drake has the best location for shopping: steps from Bloomingdale’s, American Girl, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Tiffany’s, Nordstrom.
