Traditional Cotswold stone cottage with wonderful views and log burning fires

Leys View Cottage is a delightful traditional Cotswold stone property located in the beautiful village of Lower Swell which is only a mile from the famous market town of Stow on the Wold. The beautifully presented 4 bedroom/2 bathroom property has all the character and charm of a traditional Cotswold home accompanied by a modern and stylish interior.

Located only a 2 minute walk to the centre of the village, Leys View Cottage looks out over open fields to both the front and rear and is only 200 metres to the highly regarded local pub, the Golden Ball, with its great reputation for good food and local ales. Located in the heart of the Cotswolds the cottage offers a perfect central base from which to explore the region.

Dating back to approximately 1595, the cottage has undergone renovations to the kitchen and bathrooms and now blends traditional features of log burners, beams and stone mullion windows with a contemporary kitchen and bathrooms. The property boasts 4 bedrooms, 2 bath/shower rooms and 2 reception rooms. The cottage is well furnished throughout with high quality fixtures and fittings offering a modern and contemporary twist that complement a wealth of period features including log burning stoves, beams throughout and a magnificent vaulted ceiling in the master bedroom. Comfortable place - great location
A comfortable place that accommodated 8 of us really well. Two fridges was a nice touch - one for beers, one for food. Perfect for 8 friends meeting over a long weekend. And the pub over the road was spot on too.

Leys View Cottage
Very well-equipped, comfortable cottage. The bed linen was very high quality, the kitchen so well equipped with two fridges and a range cooker. It was perfect for seven of us to stay over Christmas. Oh! Also two wood burning stoves and places to sit. We loved it.

Beautiful cottage in fantastic location
What a lovely cottage! We had a fantastic stay, the location was perfect for exploring (1 mile outside Stow and from the local supermarket (as well as Majestic & M&S at the garage). The cottage has a lovely layout and was perfect with the woodburner in the evenings. Kitchen was so well equipped and large kitchen table to seat everyone. The owner has been so helpful. Would def stay again!

Great cottage and sleeps four adults comfortably. Good location for visiting the Cotswolds and very close to Stow on the Wold for shops etc. Great pub in the village. We will certainly look to return in the summer months when good use can be made of the patio.

Great property and lovely location
We had a great stay this weekend. Went with 4 couples and a baby. The only issue we had was that one of the toilets wasn’t working. The owner did try to fix it during our stay but it was still broken. 8 people sharing one toilet isn’t ideal but we managed. We were walking distance from a lovely village where we had lunch and made dinner each night at the property. The kitchen was ideal and there was a great communal table which we could all fit round. Would happily stay again.

Great location, character home
The home is located in a small village in the middle of the Cotswold's, a short drive from many of the picturesque towns and sights in the area. Though it's on the main road through town, it was quiet and cozy. The check-in process was easy and communication was great. We really enjoyed the welcome basket with some breakfast items, especially since we arrived later in the afternoon and didn't then have to go out and find a grocery store. The home is updated nicely given the age and overall a really cool place to stay when visiting the Cotswolds!

great house for a group of people,
Located nicely near Stow -- 20 minute walk -- with lots of walking opportunities in glorious countryside. Also near train at Moreton-in-Marsh get folks or depart. Property was fine, well appointed kitchen. Good weather allowed use of nice garden yard. Bathrooms fine and clean. Single beds a bit hard (extra extra firm :) but got used to them. Would recommend. Only issue was with the key box, which would not open because of key lodging in it in such as way as to stifle the latch after entering the correct keycode. Property needs a higher grade keybox. We were able to call the housekeeper, who came quickly with a second set of keys.

Cotswolds Holiday
An enjoyable 5 days in the Cotswolds. A good base to explore more. The property was comfortable and reasonably well equipped for our needs, a hair dryer would have been welcomed The welcome pack was generous and appreciated. The road could have been an issue with young children as the traffic was fast mo ving Overall a pleasant experience and would recommend the property.

Wonderful Countryside Retreat
The cottage had everything you could ask for with old world charm and modern amenities following a remodel of kitchen and bath that made you feel like you were in a brand new house yet also retaining the centuries old feel that you want when staying in the Cotswolds. Location was amazing just about one hour drive from Stonehenge, Oxford, And Bath. Our family is asking when we are going back. Owner is very attentive and house was equipped with all you needed and welcome goodies with local flavor waiting for your visit.

Fantastic family friendly cottage...
We had a fantastic stay at the beautiful cottage in a perfect location. As a group of 4 adults and 3 children there was plenty of room and clearly the owner had put themselves in a position of being a visitor, everything needed was there. Great location to explore the area and an exceptionally peaceful position. The pub 100m up the road had just changed hands but was very welcoming and we ate there on two nights - even Adam Henson dropped in for a drink! We have stayed in many cottages over the years and this is certainly an excellent one. Highly recommended. 5*

A hidden treasure
A delightful property with everything you need for a wonderful stay. The beds are really comfortable and all the furnishings are of a high standard. The local pub serves good food if you prefer not to cook and Stow offers a range of good restaurants to choose from. After a busy day at Cheltenham races it was lovely to return to this warm welcoming cottage that became our home for the week.

Thanks for another great stay!
This is our second stay in the cottage and we enjoyed it just as much as the first time. It's a great property that is very clean, nicely decorated and has everything you need. We were a group of seven adults and there was plenty of space for all of us. Great location within walking distance of Stow. The owner, Michael is very helpful and sent all the information we would need. We would definitely recommend this cottage and will hopefully be coming back next year.
