Tucked behind the river on a quiet no through road, you have the best of both worlds - a quiet location but within a stone’s throw from the high street and beautiful River Windrush. You can access the river within a few steps from the front of the property and discover the bridges that link you to all the attractions.
The cottage itself is perfect for visitors staying for a week or just a few days with a spacious living room at the front, a fully equipped kitchen in the centre and a dining room at the back with access to the enclosed garden where you can enjoy the evening sun with a glass of something chilled after a day exploring. Upstairs you are greeted by two bedrooms with kingsize beds, one of which has a shower room en-uite, and a third with a single or twin beds and a family bathroom. The owners have made Chapel House a wonderful holiday home and you’ll certainly have a very pleasant stay here with your family, friends and fellow holidaymakers.
The village centre just a short walk away, is full of attractions and local amenities including Birdland, a model village, a model railway, the Cotswold Motoring Museum, the Cotswold Distillery, Bourton Lakes Fishery, a perfumery workshop, pottery, and children’s indoor play barn with so many wonderful attractions in the area. The village is also known as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ due to the shallow River Windrush which runs through the centre and hosts an annual ‘football in the river’ game which is great fun to watch although expect to get wet!
The Cotswolds is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and it won’t take you long to see why, with honey-coloured cottages and meandering lanes, it’s simply stunning! Nearby towns and villages well worth a visit include Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh (with its famous Tuesday market), Broadway, Chipping Campden, Burford, and Chipping Norton with its charming theatre.
