We are giving this hotel 4 stars because of the great breakfast and wonderful staff who go above and beyond. We stayed here because we thought it would be quieter than the Medina. This was a mistake. The hotel has a Quiet Time of midnight to 8 am which was mostly respected, but the surrounding area has barking dogs, loud trucks and roosters crowing at all hours. There also isn’t much around it as far as restaurants and bars.
As I have a bad knee and use a cane, management gave me a room on the first floor (about 14 stairs up) and offered to serve me breakfast in my room. As the rooms are quite tiny, I elected to walk up to the 4th floor rooftop for breakfast. Nice view and excellent breakfast. It was rainy and cold while we were there. Had the weather been nicer, the roof would have been a good place to hang out. We asked if there was a nearby restaurant to walk to in the rain but the receptionist pulled out a take out menu so we didn’t have to go out. Someone from the hotel picked it up and brought it to us which was really nice. I also would have gladly traded my tv for a light strong enough for reading and a chair.
