Quiet and quaint property with kind, friendly, and caring staff and impeccably kept grounds.
At the beginning of our stay we were greeted by a friendly staff member who gave us short tour of the main house, and then brought us to our room (Northern Light) and showed us all the amenities. My wife and I were both taken aback by how friendly and inviting the staff member was - she showed us through the kitchen and invited us to come in any time of day to grab something to eat or drink any time we wanted.
We enjoyed the beautiful gardens and other landscape features throughout the property. We enjoyed relaxing in the gazebo (with the heat lamp!) and just listening to the din of nature and the surrounding community.
We were charmed by the personal attention every staff member showed to us and the other guests. For example, we borrowed two bikes to take a ride to the downtown area and as we were getting things ready, the groundskeeper came over and made sure the equipment was in good working condition before we left.
The breakfast each morning was excellent, served in a beautiful enclosed porch with great views of the surrounding gardens. It was a bit cold for us to eat outside in the garden during our stay, but I'm sure that would be a great experience as well.
We've never stayed where the staff treated you so kindly - almost as if you were family. Captain's House Inn is definitely on the list of places we intend to return.
