"This is a great house to base yourself and to explore the local area. It has everything you need. And ideally you can park your car inside the gates for safety, I found this very important as I was travelling by car from Ireland and I wanted the car safe. The rental management company was helpful and arrived early for my departure which allowed me to hit the road early. Thank you for a lovely stay. Jennifer"

"Erholsam, ruhig. Das Haus passt gut für 4 Personen und ist schön eingerichtet. Tolle Terrasse und schöner Garten! Lage super für Radtouren, mit dem Rad sind es nur wenige Minuten zu einem der schönsten Strände der Insel. Die Kommunikation mit der Besitzerin und der Verwalterin hat bestens geklappt. Die Sauberkeit liess etwas zu wünschen übrig, da die Vormieter putzen. Aber dafür kann ja die Besitzerin nichts. "

"This was our second year at this property, absolutely perfect, beautiful property, fantastic location, 15 minutes walk into the town of Angles, where we had some amazing meals and lovely local bar, 10 minutes drive to the beach, 30 minutes drive to Luçon where we got the train to La Rochelle, there is a super market 5 minutes walk from the property with a petrol station. Can’t fault this property at all, we will definitely return. Thank you Brigitte Sara & Tony Wilde"

"Excellent. In dem Haus ist wirklich alles vorhanden, vor allem in der Küche. Zudem gibt es einen eigenen Schuppen für die Fahrräder, die man dringend auf der Ile de Re benötigt. Das sehr nette Ehepaar Serra wohnt direkt nebenan. Auch die Lage im Norden empfanden wir als günstig, hier sind die schönsten Strände. Also alles bestens und wirklich zu empfehlen. Dr. Klein"

"We had a very relaxing stay at Bretignolles. We loved the property, it was clean and comfortable. The garden was a perfect spot for soaking up the sun. Being able to walk to the beach was a real bonus. Our hosts were very welcoming and we managed to communicate despite our language differences. We would highly recommend this property. Perhaps clearer instructions as to the position as we did have some difficulty finding it, but this was a minor issue."

"Very good holiday house. The spiral staircase was challenging. Cool interior during the heatwave we experienced."

"Great location, very quiet and so well equipped. Everything you need, apart from a washing machine. Beds were comfortable and we had no issue. Easy to get to. I was surprised there was no communication as to what to do with the keys on check out day despite sending a text to the owner. "Lovely place for a family holiday, although bit of a squeeze for 10. Up to date kitchen diner but a lack of lounge area, particularly for a large family. First floor bedrooms are accessed via the old turret - not suitable for the infirm, although the ground floor bedroom makes a great 'granny annexe'. Lovely pool but very little shade. Adequate hotel for 1 night

"Hotel is clean and bed is comfortble, if decor is slightly shabby. It is fine for an overnight stay when on a journey. Handy for Les Sables d'Olonne which is a nice port with good restaurants. We arrived late so the restaurant was closed but the hotel has a late check in which is useful."

Cheap and cheerful overnighter

"The hotel was convenient for the route we were on. The receptionist was friendly. The room was clean and tidy but minimalist. The room was small with bed against the wall so accessible from one side only. The bed itself was comfortable. Being convenient for the route it was also noisy all night if you are a light sleeper ear plugs would help. But it was cheap! "

"It is a scam. I received confirmation email the day of my rental claiming i was expected there, but when i showed up I could not reach the landlord. I had to book another facility and spent 2 hours trying to solve the situation with expedia /vrbo ... "

It’s a condo!

"This is NOT a hotel! The front desk explained that it is a condo rental. That means you do not get any cleaning, even with a8 night stay. And you get 1 bath towel, nothing else. No replacement towels, and no hand towel or washcloths. And you get 1 roll of toilet paper, then you have to buy it yourself. Having said that, the front desk staff was very helpful, when they were present. And it is only 1 block to the beach. If you have a larger rental car, beware of the enclosed parking spaces l. They are tiny. And we had no idea that we needed a parking reservation, but you do. And you are expected to clean up when you leave, taking sheets off the beds, and taking the trash to the disposals outside. We don’t require a lot, and everything was functional and clean. I would stay there again. I was just expecting something different. "

Hôtel SABLES D'O et son restaurant "LE 16 BIS"

"We spent three nights here - were very happy with the room’s comfort and cleanliness. Our view out the window was awesome, although we didn’t discover the outer motorized shade to block the street lamps until the second night! Great location with tons of restaurants and easy access to the beach and the delightful old town. "
