I would like to begin with literally the only positive thing about this stay: the guy at the front desk. I can't remember his name, but he was very kind and friendly. Impressive, considering he had to work with no air conditioning. He was the only good part of the stay.
I worked as a hotel maid, and I can tell you with absolute confidence that the second we pulled into the lot I knew I'd screwed up. Filthy, unsafe, grimy, dusty. The tub had pubes and a ring of grime you could feel. The room was sparsely furnished, and I can only assume the owner's daughter picked this stuff. In 2001. When she was 14. Either that, or a cheap hooker. And I mean dirt cheap. Faux leather bedside tables, faux leather chairs, faux leather headboard. Bed was like sleeping on a burlap sack full of loose stuffing laid on a plywood board. We put an ironing board under the door handle, because the only security aside from a literal key, an actual real life metal key, was a latch at the top of the door.
I am not usually the demanding type, but there is absolutely no excuse for such lousy housekeeping. Dust on all the furniture, which my partner described as "in the style of Late Supervillain".
It honestly felt like the kind of place where really cheap porn is filmed. The kind where you're worried that maybe this isn't all exactly consensual, but a rather unpleasant exchange of services. Also, front is hotel. Back is... shady apartments. It's like a ghetto Overlook Hotel. Avoid. At all costs.
