Spacious and Quiet One Block off King Street

Summary:
This is a large 1 bedroom apartment, with an outside deck that is perfect for a vacation where you want to be super close to all the night life, but in a quiet area. Just one block away from Upper King Street, the epicenter of the city's renowned restaurant and nightlife district. Equipped with 2 off-street parking spaces! My driveway narrows to exactly 8 feet wide. If you are uncomfortable with the narrowness, we recommend smaller vehicles. The parking itself is very generous, and not tight.

The Space:
This is a large 1 bedroom with a fold down sofa in the living room. The kitchen is large enough to prepare meals, if you want to stay in, and the outside deck is perfect for enjoying cocktails after a day of walking around the City. The bathroom is located on the first floor.

Please note this unit is handicap inaccessible.

Guest Access:
This is a private rental and guests have access to the entire space.

The Neighborhood:
The property is located in the Cannonborough Elliotborough neighborhood of Downtown Charleston, which is considered the most upcoming area on the peninsula. The neighborhood is perfect for a couple or a group who is looking to fully embrace Charleston's unique charm. Step right outside your door and find a wonderfully curated mix of shops, bars, bakeries, and dining. We recommend grabbing a coffee at The Daily before exploring King Street, Charleston's ultimate epicenter of shops and restaurants, which is just one short block from the property. Our guests have a wide selection of walkable dinner options, some of our favorites include Leon's, Melfi's, and Renzo. Come experience all that our beautiful city has to offer!

Getting Around:
Charleston is a walking city. Uber & Lyft are both widely available. If guests do have a car, we provide TWO off-street parking spaces. We suggest bringing an economy size vehicle if possible.

Other Things to Note:
- Please note our strict cancellation policy
- Streaming device provided as opposed to standard cable
- Please be considerate of our surrounding neighbors and keep noise to a minimum after 10 PM
- 2 off-street parking spaces provided at no additional cost
- No smoking within 30 feet of the property. Violating this rule may result in fines.
- For safety and maintenance reasons, NOTHING is to be attached to any wall under any circumstance. Fees will apply if anything is found. This includes but is not limited to; all types of tape, adhesives, pins, etc.

Charming Apartment
Everything we needed for a 5 day stay. Apartment is exactly like the pictures! Clean and comfortable. Driveway is fine for a small car and there was also parking on street available. My only recommendation would be to have a couple of plastic cups for drinks.

Weekend Stay
Property was clean but had a fruit fly issue. We noticed them right when we entered but didnt think much of it. After going grocery shopping everything we left out on counter got infested with them. Bananas, bread, etc. They are telling the truth when it comes to the tight fit for parking. Wasn't major but what made it more difficult than it needed to be was that the person who lived in the street facing unit owned a Porsche and thought nothing of it to park it so its sticking out all the time. Like it wanted someone to come along side it and scratch it. Photos of outside table area are not accurate. Instead of the nice table in the photo its a rusted patio table that is peeling. Not huge but just misleading. If I were to do it again I would stay somewhere near the French Quarter. Although you could walk to King Street you are on the opposite end before the overpass. Was safe, just not as close as we thought. Overall it suited our purpose but won't be searching it out again for our next visit.

Visit
Everything looked very nice except that the stair was way too hard for my husband to step since he is 80 years old. He got up in the middle of night to go to the restroom downstair. The path from the front to the back was too narrowed for me to drive through.

The host was very good at communication. We were greeted in the parking lot and showed in to our accommodations. The place was in a great location in walking distance to everything. I would definitely stay again. Thank you for resolving the issues and helping us out with everything.

Beautiful space
This was a beautiful space to explore Charleston. We had so much privacy and quiet even though the homes are very close together. A clarification on the parking: our Ford Explorer was so close to the homes pulling in we only went in and out once. Parking on the street was not a problem. Hopefully this helps in deciding what car will fit!

Great place to stay
We had a great time staying here! The property was very clean and looks exactly like it does in the pictures. The property is in a great location. Close to the bridge to go to Sullivans island or isle of palms-which we did! In walking distance (if you are up to walking 1-2 miles) to the farmers market, city market, rainbow row, liberty square, etc. if walking is not your thing then I would definitely suggest driving. The space to pull into the driveway is very, very tight. We drive a Honda CRV. We got through but had to watch very closely. Sometimes there were trash cans and another car slightly parked over so had to be extra careful and parked on the street at one time.

Charleston Visit
We chose to take a day off in Charleston on our trip to Florida for the month of January. This small but comfortable unit met our needs very well. We appreciated the wine and coffee supplies. The bed was very comfortable. We were able to walk everywhere and I logged over 20 thousand steps in a day for the first time! The homes and gardens were the highlight of our time in the city and we will look forward to visiting again.

Nice House!
It’s a very nice house with an excellent location. Everything was very clean and it was one the easiest check in/check out processes I’ve been a part of. I would happily stay again if coming back to Charleston.

18 Carolina Street C
Charleston covers a lot of area, and we did need a car for the Battery, French Quarter, and Rainbow Row, but upper King Street with some great restaurants was easily accessible by foot from here. Hampton Park, Marion Square, and the Visitor Center are as well. Unit C is very quiet, with its own deck and chairs, and a private courtyard. Compact cars are recommended for accessing this area, no Suburbans or Expeditions for sure. Unit is comfortable and well equipped with everything functioning properly. We had a great vacation here.

Great girls getaway
The property management was fabulous. They contacted me the day of my booking and continued to follow up through our stay. The property was very charming, clean and we had everything available that we needed for our long weekend. It was only one block off of King Street, however it was longer distance to the market place and old part of Charleston then we thought, but the walk was doable or a quick Lyft ride back. Our stay was a great experience and we look forward to visiting again.

Convenient, but away from the Tourists
We laughed every time we drove out in the morning because everything, other than the Middleton Plantation was a 9 minute drive. We enjoyed being in neighborhood away from tourist center. Because parking in the historic center was plentiful (at least this time of year), we found getting around with 18 Carolina as our base very desirable.
