Heron's Rest is a lakefront house with cabin feel, truly a diamond in the rough!

Our 2,752 sq ft diamond in the rough is located on a cove near Cowan Creek area of Weiss Lake and offers easy access to the lake, private 9 ft wide concrete boat ramp and dock with cleats.

Our quiet neighborhood has both full time residents and weekenders. As you enjoy the peace and quiet, you will also be able to watch the herons, ducks, and geese along with other wildlife. If you look closely, you might even spot a few turtles.

On the main level you will find 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The kitchen and living room are an open concept with access to the sunporch for dining. On the lower level there are 2 bedrooms and 1 shared bathroom. Off of the 4th bedroom is a utility room with washer, dryer and a dehumidifier system (there is a hum when the dehumidifier is running). There are also 2 family rooms that are open to each other, great for the kids to hang out. One room has a TV and 2 recliners, the other room has a foosball table along with access to the lower-level patio.

Enjoy the view of the lake from the deck off of the sunporch. There is also a portion of the deck that is screened.

For your convenience each bedroom along with the main level living room and lower-level family room has a smart TV ready for your personal streaming services.

Having rented VRBO's ourselves, we know how important the kitchen is. Our kitchen is well-equipped for your needs with plenty of cookware, utensils, blender, crock-pot, mixing bowls, etc. Plus there is plenty of storage in the pantry for your stuff.

AREA:
-Rock climbers and hikers, Sandrock climbing and Cherokee Rock Village are only 29 minutes away.
-Scenic drive, the Little River Canyon Falls Park and Little River Canyon Rim Pkwy are approx 28 minutes.
-Chattanooga, TN with Lookout Mountain Incline Railway, Ruby Falls and Bass Pro Shop are approx 90 minutes.
-Rock City, GA is approx 90 minutes.
-Want to walk around a quaint little town? Cave Spings, GA is 27 minutes and Rome, GA is 45 minutes.
-Noccalula Falls in Gadsden, AL is approx 40 minutes.
-Of course, there is the lake for fishing, swimming, boating and water sports.

Airports: Atlanta and Birmingham airports are just 2 hours away and Chattanooga Airport is approx 90 minutes.

Perfect Family Getaway

We enjoyed our Labor Day trip!
Easy booking process and owner was quick to respond to any questions! Some of our favorites was the boat ramp right on the property, the basement area was perfect for our kids and the kitchen was amazing! Made us feel like we were at grandma’s house all weekend :)

Beautiful home with spectacular view of lake
The property was spotless tons of kitchen utensils cleaning supplies towels very convenient to not have to load the boat up everyday just jump in and go the deck was amazing and the screen and porch was wonderful to drink coffee in the morning and look at the lake definitely we'll go back

Would definitely stay again. Only a short ride to several parks, good restaurants nearby, and the host left so much good information for outings. I only regret not signing the check in journal.

Susan was a great host her communication was superb. The house was perfect clean and well furnished, great bedding, great view of the lake and the boat ramp on site was perfect. We had 2 boats fishing the ABT 100 trail and ramp handles 21 foot bass boats!!

Relaxing retreat on Weiss Lake
The property was just as described and pictured on the site. Very quiet and relaxing setting. Comfortable furnishings and the best equipped kitchen we have ever had in a vacation rental. We are a family of cooks and so we really appreciated the level of equipment provided. Sue (Property manager) was extremely easy to work with and the check in process was a breeze. Easy access to DeSoto state park and the LIttle River Canyon area as well. Would not hesitate to recommend Heron's Rest as a lake house destination to anyone looking for that experience.

Very nice well clean house. This was this best equipped home my friends and I have stayed in. The air conditioning is a little noisy but we were told ahead of time about it. We didn’t like there was only one extra pod for the dishwasher and no extra trash bags. It was a great house to relax at, enjoyed the dock and decks.

Lovely lake getaway
This property was exactly as pictured and described-and more! The kitchen was so well appointed, it was a joy to prepare meals there. The beds were very comfortable. The living spaces, both indoors and out were very comfortable, as well. The highlight was the peaceful view of the lake and watching the herons and other birds. So nice! Highly recommend this home!

Perfect Lake Home and Location!!
Wow! Everything exceeded our expectations! This home is immaculate, well appointed, and in the perfect location on the water with a beautiful sloping lot. The kitchen is amazing and has everything you can possibly need whether you are cooking, grilling or just making sandwiches. The beds are all very comfortable and have plenty of closet space. My only hesitation in writing this review is that this place will become so popular, it will become harder for us to book lol! Thank you again for a lovely getaway!

Perfect location for kayakers and bikers
We selected this four bedroom, three full bath waterfront house on Weiss Lake for two main reasons - a boat ramp from which to launch our kayaks into the lake, and its close proximity to the Chief Ladiga Rail Trail. The house is clean and well maintained. It is also very well equipped, especially the kitchen. Example - we counted more than six frying pans of various sizes, all in perfect condition. Five stars.

We had a zen blast
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The kids (35 to 45yo) relaxed immediately on arrival. We made use of both decks extensively. The kitchen was so much better equipped than anything at which we have stayed before; the ladies in the group were beyond amazed! Will we go back? Almost certainly - just need to mesh the schedules of three families.

Perfect lake house during Thanksgiving!
We will definitely stay here again! My family needed a house near my cousin in Centre who was hosting our first family reunion and Thanksgiving. This house was perfect for me, my wife, my 2 adult children, and my soon-to-be-son-in-law. The best features of this house are the kitchen, the outdoor deck, and the view along the lake. Rural, but not remote. Roughly equidistant between Atlanta and Birmingham airports, but closer to Birmingham. Absolutely couldn’t beat the price and location. We’re considering hosting next year’s thanksgiving at this house now! Highly recommended to anyone needing a place in the area, and we’ll be staying here again. Loved our stay!

Lake House getaway
We had a blast. The Lake House was so clean. My wife loved the open kitchen. And me and my grandson loved the foosball table. I was worried about the boat ramp being wide enough for my boat. But it barely fit. I couldn't get the boat lift to work, I don't know if it was in working order. Other than that we had a great stay.the beds were comfortable. It's the best lake house we've stayed in so far. I caught plenty of bass at Weiss lake. We would recommend this lake house to anyone.
