A calming private apartment in the heart the historic business district, located on Washington Ave just steps to a variety of local restaurants, small shops, wineries, breweries, parks...yet set back for those quiet moments when you need a timeout. The 2 br apartment is situated above a private garage accessed by stairs, loaded with everything you need for a 5 star stay whether it's for 1 night, a week, or more. A living room to hang out in and a full kitchen to either heat up your leftovers from a restaurant, or make a quick meal before heading out to explore more is a better value compared to a 1 room bnb. Choice linens and varied pillows for a great night sleep. We do not charge a cleaning fee and we just ask for you to do a couple of things before you check(no cleaning)out. Just got the place for one night, for a friends birthday celebration. Great location and walking distance to all the Cedarburg downtown fun! Property was clean, cozy, and super comfortable. Definitely going to stay here again.

Great, safe place to stay
We came to Wisconsin visit family. We enjoyed our stay immensely. The apartment is upstairs. It was very clean and sufficient for our party of 6. There were a few board games available, which our boys enjoyed. There were also some books available for adults and children. We went to Holy Hill, Lake Michigan, Bookworm Gardens, Green Bay stadium, Madison (Fromagination and Olbrich Gardens are a must see), and explored Cedarburg during our stay. I tried a couple of local coffee shops and we went to several shops on the day we walked around exploring Cedarburg. Kathy was easily contacted if we had any needs and ready to give suggestions if we needed something to do. Overall, I felt like this was a safe area with plenty to do for our family. We would stay here again.

Wonderful location!
Lovely apartment had everything you could want in the perfect location. Our best part was playing games at the table sharing lots of laughs! The 1st place my friends ate was literally next door (Dorsey's). Only drove the car twice our entire trip because everything is in walking distance of the apartment. Kathy communicates so well and gave many great recommendations. My favorites were Cedarburg Roasters for coffee, Dorsey's for brunch, Milwaukee Ale House in Grafton for burgers, and Lillies for shopping. The evening strolls on the lit streets while people were out walking their dogs was like being in a Hallmark movie! Me being gluten free, I was delighted to find that every restaurant we chose had options for me to eat! This wonderful stay made me want to make this an annual trip with my friends! Thanks so much for inviting us into your little home away from home.

Anniversary Get Away
We had visited Cedarburg in the winter, but we wanted to experience it in the summer. We were not disappointed! The weather was perfect! We enjoyed hiking at Lions Den in Grafton, walking in Cedarburg, relaxing outside at the Wandernhaus, and eating at the Stilt House and the Anvil. Loved breakfast at PJ Piper Pancake House. Our accommodations were excellent, and the property owner was very friendly and helpful. Great little get-away!

Spotless and cute!!
This is such a cute place. You immediately feel at home with the warm decor and nice touches, like flowers, games, magazines, etc. The location is perfect, giving you access to walk right into the shops and restaurants of Cedarburg. And it was soooooo clean!! I mean really clean, not just "clean" like other rentals.

A Perfect Spot!
We have stayed several times at this wonderful property and have thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Wandernhaus. The owner, Kathy, is accommodating, personable and does all she can to ensure comfort and enjoyment for her guests. We absolutely recommend this spot for anyone traveling to the Cedarburg area. The property is located in the heart of Cedarburg. Easy walk to shops and restaurants! It was cold and rainy when we arrived, but we greatly enjoyed doing a tiny puzzle that was in a basketful of games in the living room while we sipped hot tea.

We were attending a concert in Milwaukee and decided to stay Thursday and Friday in Cedarburg. This was the perfect location, close to everything in town. Walking distance to a lot of fun things! 2nd time staying here
This was our 2nd time staying at Kathy and Marty's place. The apartment is spacious for 3 adults, has everything we could possibly need, and is located close to Cedarburg's wineries, restaurants, and shops. We parked the car and walked everywhere. This was our third year in a row staying at this location for a yearly event. It is perfect for our needs: great location, great communication, clean, and comfortable. Not large by any means, but able to accommodate 4 adults without sharing beds. We'll most likely be back again next year. Great hospitality.

A middle of the week weekend
We had a much needed girlfriend’s mini getaway. The Waldernhaus in Cedarburg was exactly how described. The owner Kathy was attentive and so ready to help when our vehicle got a flat tire. Nice place and nice owner. We liked a lot!
