The hotel was excellent; clean, comfortable and very good value. The WiFi is free, unlike some larger hotels in Cebu. However, the restaurant is trying to be what a western tourist would expect, and is doing well, but still needs some improvement. They have avoided using "Cheez" in their dishes (real cheese is hard to find in many places in the Philippines), they use real cream (unsweetened) and the bread is not the usual over-sweet Filipino offering. They know how to cook a steak, unlike most Filipino restaurants which can't bring themselves to serve anything less than "overcooked". What they haven't yet grasped is the timing. Main courses are served before you finish eating the starter, and if you ask for them to serve your main course later, it is served cold. This is not unusual for Filipino establishments, but unwelcome in one that tries to be more like a western style restaurant. I suspect that the kitchen starts cooking both courses as soon as the order is taken, rather than waiting 20 minutes before cooking the main course. Other than that, I can't fault the place, and will be going back again next year to see how they are getting on!
