"The cabin was perfect for a few days of writing and reflecting! Everything was very clean and it was easy communicating with the owner. The house is not "secluded" as there are neighboring houses on two sides and if I hadn't brought an ax/saw to cut my own dry wood enjoying a fire wouldn't have been possible. But overall a lovely stay and I look forward to going again!"

"It is a very quaint property and sed has the rustic cabin feel, the location was not as intimate as we hoped as it is in a regular neighborhood with close primary with neighbors. "

"Great experience. Cabin is as shown, very comfortable, easy access. 10 min to Shepherdstown, lots of great restaurants and shops there. Our dates ended up being over the severe cold/snow in January 2025, so we didn't do much hiking or anything on the river, but it was a lovely environment, very peaceful and cozy. Owners were super responsive when needed and very easy to work with. Would definitely go back in nicer weather! "

"Enjoyed this beautiful property. Spectacular view of Antietam Battlefield. Great spot for Civil War enthusiasts who will enjoy this high lookout for the Union perspective. Was great for our small family reunion. Nice gathering spaces and several away spots for individual privacy. "

"Loved the stay, our host answered calls promply and was so considerate. We loved the woodstove, grew up with one, loved the smell, loved still being close to stores,restaurants, and plenty of wooded area just beautiful. "

"This was a lovely getaway for me and my girlfriend. There were a few issues: the cabin could use a good dusting in kind of obvious spaces, host told us the cleaners hadn’t been in halfway through and that was a tad disconcerting, and I don’t think the listing mentioned how the cabin is so close to the main property. We think the privacy was still pretty good, but it would’ve been nice had that been clearer up front. Overall, a good stay. "

"This place was perfect for us. Secluded and quiet area, great history, and great amenities. It’s definitely a historic cabin and may not be suitable for everyone, especially those who are taller than around 5’9”, or those with physical handicaps. For us it was perfect. The managers were great and communicated with us any time we asked questions. Highly recommend. "

"This beautiful home was built by the owners and is tastefully decorated as well as nicely maintained. The location makes it extremely convenient for day trips to surrounding towns such as Frederick, Harper's Ferry and Gettysburg. The home is comfortable and can easily accommodate a large group. The hosts are very responsive. We enjoyed our stay and would rebook if we were to return to the area."

"Direct and to the point. My wife and I travel quite a bit and generally stay in VRBO‘s this place is the nicest that we have ever stayed in. It’s very modern and the attention to detail amazes me. This is the second time we’ve stayed there and I’m taking pictures and notes as it’s going to help me build the cottage we want to build for ourselves. Highly recommend this location. Sidenote, it has one of the best beds I’ve ever slept on!"

The beds were comfortable, the shower water hot, and the house was clean and nicely warm -- especially appreciated on these freezing, snowy days! Would stay again and definitely recommend."

Wonderfu date night!!!!!

"We stayed in the MI cabin. The front desk was polite and gave us useful information when we got there since it was our first time. The cabin was very clean and was cozy! We loved the view from the porch and you can see some of the battlefield from almost all of the cabins. The place was nice and quite, very relaxing. The whole experience was great! We ate at the Lodge on the property and it was delicious. The drinks were made great too. Friendly service all around. We will definitely be back!"

Pleasantly surprised! Clean room

"Incredibly surprised how clean the room was. Smelled clean, comfortable bed, fluffy bath towels. A real nice surprise. I’m a travel nurse and have been in some hotels that make me cringe (don’t want to spend a lot for a few hours of sleep), but I will definitely stay here again with my travels to Fredrick to work. "
