We loved our stay at the Magnolia house. It was plenty spacious, clean, and very convenient to Rixey Manor, the wedding venue. Check in was easy and walking the trails was great. We loved the Zonkey😃

Highly recommend this property. Beautiful grounds and home for a large family celebration. Close to all that the Shenandoah National Park has to offer. The grounds of the property are gorgeous! We had a wonderful time walking the property and soaking in the hot tub. Would love to go back!

Management was overly accommodating. Property was well maintained, and the serenity and privacy was enjoyed by all. A few ponds to fish if you’re so inclined and the indoor pool was a huge hit for the little ones. Whether a weekend getaway or a week long escape, highly recommend.

My group had an absolutely amazing time at Magnolia House. The photos don’t do it justice - it’s so spacious and cozy, with a fabulous hot tub and fire place and located on its own lake. Connie was very responsive and flexible. Definitely hope to come back again, it exceeded expectations!

This house is on a beautiful property. The house and property are both much larger than they look in the pictures. We stayed with family over Thanksgiving and the house was perfectly laid out with enough space to spread out and cook. It was perfect for our young kids to play and explore. We enjoyed many walks around the property and relaxing on the deck.

We really enjoyed the time staying there. The house is beautiful inside and out. It has plenty of space for 11 of us and is equipped with anything you need. We also got a lovely Welcome basket with wine, marshmallow, graham cracker and chocolate. Connie responded super quick to my questions. We had a wonderful experience there and will definitely go back.

Wow where to begin? What a perfect stay. The property is even bigger and more beautiful than expected. We saw so many baby animals (deer, bunnies, goats). The kids loved the zebra. The house is in great condition and super clean. Full of attentive touches. Paul and Connie went above and beyond for us.

Stayed at Magnolia house for 3 nights. Grounds are simply beautiful this time of the year! House supposed to be remodeled soon...hot tub and fire pits ( gas and wood) outside were great to have...house was fully equipped...the only problem we had is that the grill wasn’t working which was a bummer:) but having two ovens in the kitchen solved the problem :) Pool house, animals and great hospitality just added to great stay!!! Thank you Connie and Paul ! Already planning another trip :)

I highly recommend Castleton Farms! The kids had an amazing time and it was a great place to relax. Highlights were feeding all of the animals (Paul was amazing with our two kids. He spent at least an hour every day helping my boys feed the goats, pig, donkey, horses, etc), the indoor pool/sauna/steam area and fishing in the pond. The houses are all so well kept and Connie is amazingly helpful. You would think her and Paul own the place with the level of time and love they put into it. Can’t wait to go back!

We had a group of 9 friends stay at the Magnolia House (formerly aptly named the Pink House). The set-up of the house was perfect for our group. We loved the double oven, big refrigerator and outdoor covered grill. The property is beautiful to walk around and visit the unusual farm animals. It is in close proximity to Shenandoah National Park and many wineries. The hospitality manager, Connie, was a pleaseure to work with. As soon as we returned from our weekend away, we booked another weekend in October.

We stayed at Pink House for a bachelorette weekend, there were 10 of us staying at the house and it was just the right size! We went and visited local wineries (Magnolia was recommended by Connie and staff and was phenomenal), and they offered us the use of the pool at another house since there was no one staying there that weekend. We had a lovely time, the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed for all our meals. The cell service is a little hit or miss out there so make sure you load your directions beforehand, but the wifi in the house was great once we got there! If you're looking for a quiet oasis near Shenandoah I highly recommend staying on Castleton Farms! Thanks for everything!!

We had a lovely week in Castleton. The setting of the property is beautifful. There were a few issues but we didn't notify the office until we left so they should have taken care of everything before the next guests arrived. When I did call Connie, she was very responsive and had someone check the property. Our biggest issue, which isn't a property issue and not a huge problem for many people is the location being so far from anything. The property was very large and comfortable but updates are needed. We noticed new furniture in the living room which was great but the main bathroom needs refurbishment. There was plenty of room and many bathrooms which was helpful with toddlers!

This property is so unique! Complete privacy but aligned with a farm and beautiful views! We were a group of nine and selected this place due to the room layout and proximity to home in DC for a quick New Years getaway with adult friends. The property manager was immediately responsive and provided great detail to us for our journey. Check in was super easy and the house was well stocked with toys including a basketball court and cornhole, and has a great patio. The room layout was a little strange and the sixth bedroom was not actually a bedroom- it’s a few beds separated by a half wall from the king. The house itself needs a little work but nothing that got in our way of fun! The fireplace was a great centerpiece too. Our friends agreed that we hope to go back! Thank you!

This was probably the best vacation rental we have ever made - and we rent at least 2-3 times a year. There is something soooo calming & soul-cleansing in the location itself. Rolling hills. Away from city lights. No traffic to speak off. You can hear the calls of the deer and birds sooo clearly. A variety of butterflies & the real wildlife of northern VA.. all just outside your door. Combine all this natural beauty with the amenities to keep all members of the family happy ! Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room for the grandparents- followed by strolls on the grass trails. Basketball, ping pong, swimming, kayaks, etc. for the kids. More intense trails for the city folk. And the animal feedings (the zonkey was a big hit) for the little kids !!! And the dog - he loved every inch of the property- probably collected enough smells from the air to last him a lifetime (or until the next time we go there). On top of that Connie was sooo great- just a phone call away for anything we needed. (She was even so nice to “shield” me from a third party golf-cart rental guy who seemed irritated with me for some reason 😂. Unnecessary- but underlined how professional & polite she was with their guests). The houses are so spread out that you could go for the whole trip without seeing any other renters. We did have the whole pool house to ourselves most of the time - which was really wonderful. The pictures really don’t do this place justice- it needs to be experienced!! And we’ll definitely be back.
