Buckle House was great; it felt really homely and was super clean. Nikki was fantastic, she was able to let us in 4 hours early, saving us hanging around in the rain (thank you so much). Kitchen very well equipt and everything was new - even an immaculate non-stick frying pan and sharp knives. Enclosed garden was perfect for the dog (it is fully enclosed; escape proof for our small/medium mixed breed) with a gate at the bottom of the garden opening into the park. Will definitely book again

Our first time staying at Buckle House.
Our first time staying at Buckle House. Warm welcome from owner's mother who showed us round the house and pointed out key facilities. Located right in centre of Gatehouse of Fleet and short walking distance from shops, coffee shops and hotels. Off street car park within 150 yards if space is not available in front of house. Excellent walking areas for the dog in the woods behind the house (though paths were very wet and rather muddy due to the recent weather!!). Disappointing beaches for dog walking. Dogs not allowed on Sandgreen but Carrick Beach slightly better - check the times of high tides before you go though. For eating out the best place to go was the Masonic Arms - great atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent place to go whether you just want a drink or a meal. Found the heat sensors very sensitive in the mornings when cooking breakfast!!

We had a great stay in Buckle House - in the heart of the village, everything was in easy reach and the host was extremely welcoming and helpful. The house was large and comfortable; we really appreciated the thoughtful touches of leaving us milk and homemade pancakes! Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay and It is a lovely size and has plenty of room for 2 families.
We really enjoyed our stay and It is a lovely size and has plenty of room for 2 families. The cottage has 3 lovely bedrooms, a cosy lounge, very smart dining room and also a spacious kitchen with excellent appliances and crockery and glasses. Also, there is a lovely conservatory. The garden is big and perfect for pets. There is a gate at the bottom of the garden where you can take your dog straight to the woods and the park. We took our dog and the house was really well laid out to ensure he stayed downstairs and segregated! We were greeted by the owner Nicki with fresh scones and a welcome pack of food, a really nice touch after a 4 hour drive. As for the location, Gatehouse of Fleet is a lovely village with nice pubs, Masonic Arms is dog friendly, and a supermarket 2 minutes from the house. Lots to do in the area within 30 minutes too. If you have a dog this property and area is excellent and for kids of all ages too. We had a fab week here and I would highky recommend Buckle House and the location. Great value too.

Absolutely beautiful house with everything you need.
Absolutely beautiful house with everything you need. Nikki is a wonderful host and we’ve never stayed anywhere with so many lovely touches - bread, jam, cakes, milk in the fridge. It is spacious, light and airy and has a wonderful garden for the dog. The sun room is lovely and the bedrooms are huge. Can’t recommend this place highly enough, we will definitely be coming back. Thanks for everything Nikki.

We were greeted by the owner Nikki, who is the perfect host, and made us feel very welcome.
We were greeted by the owner Nikki, who is the perfect host, and made us feel very welcome. The cottage is very well presented, lots of space, and has everything you need. We loved the sun room at the back, where we sat with the doors open and watched our dogs enjoy playing in the fabulous garden. This was ideal for us as the gate to the rear opens onto a small woodland which leads down to Garries park, perfect for walking the dogs into Cally's wood. The cottage is located on a very quiet main street of the village, with several excellent places to eat and drink. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly look forward to coming back again soon.

We stayed at Buckle House while attending a weekend family wedding at nearby GG's Yard and it was ideal for what we needed. Nikki the owner has thought of absolutely everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The soft furnishings were lovely and made the house very comfortable and relaxing. The Welcome Pack was well received, expecially the delicious scones, jam and freshly baked bread! The house was spotlessly clean and very spacious, and the conservatory was an added bonus during the lovely weather we had. We would thoroughly recommend Buckle House as a real home from home and look forward to returning at a later date.
