"Wonderful location with splendid views over river from large room. We extended to 8 nights so obviously good but tiny tiny wardrobe so clothes around room. However , we saw other rooms had much larger later so should have asked to change. Excellent overall"

"This establishment actually has no official stars. This is a richly deserved rating. Apart from one very kindly cleaning lady, I can not think of one positive thing to say about this "hotel". The sign on the gable wall tells you the hotel has been renovated. The notice in the plastic cubicle that is the "bathroom" (the door didn't close) tells you improvements will begin in September 2017. We found an infestation of flies on the nasty plastic curtain of the shower . And this was the better...

"This property was OK for us though we couldn't arrive before 1730. Dan did let us leave our bikes while we went off to find somewhere to have a drink. We felt very much that we were living in someone else's house e.g. the bathroom had all of the owners stuff still in it. Breakfast was fine. Usually French fare."

"great room ,hob ,microwave,sink ,utensils, walk in shower .great reps at reception and bar area , cleaners nice and polite . all in all fantastic place to stay . outdoor swimming available if weather ok ,and the sports stadium within walking distance, big rugby area . magnificent ."

Self-check in, no humans

"I stayed here because there was a pool. When I arrived about 8 or 9pm there was a self-check-in at the gate. I was not sent a code, but a friend who spoke French called and got it for me. It was not sent through Hotels.com or by email. Without calling I would have not been able to stay here at all and would have been far from Agen with no room. It is VERY FAR from Agen, not in Agen as listed on the hotels.com site. The pool was covered for the night and opened at 8am the next morning. Check-out was at 10. There is no ice machine, no refrigerator, no hotel staff. I got up at 8 to use the pool for an hour. When I checked out the hotel front desk person called a cab for me. It was about 30 euro to get back to Agen. This is the only person I spoke to during my entire stay and she was lovely and helpful and understanding of my baby French as I counted on my fingers to tell her my room number. If you aren't prepared for this odd system, you will not be able to check-in if you arrive late. There is an elevator. There is no communication with guests. Pool is very small and was being cleaned during the one hour I was able to use it during my stay. I swam anyway, but the vacuum was underfoot and would not have been safe for children to swim."

A wonderful time was had here....

"We spent almost a fortnight in this beautifully restored house right on the square in Castelsagrat. We had a wonderful time. It is very large house and very comfortable for 5 persons as it has 2 great bathrooms with very nice showers. There are 2 big bedrooms and there is really a 3rd ante-bedroom which is adjacent to one of 2 bathrooms. Through this ante-bedroom you reach the very spacious front bedroom looking out onto the Square. The 2nd bathroom, equally great bathroom with shower, has a small room containing the washing machine off it, and this bathroom serves the rear huge bedroom, overlooking the courtyard garden. The rooms have good shutters to keep the house cool as it can be warm in Summertime, and it was during our stay. We did not use the pool really as we were a party of 4 adults and were part of a big party of visitors to the area and had access to a larger pool during our visit. But it would be suitable for children, especially in the heat it would be a welcome facility. If you do travel with children, be sure you have a tv package like Netflix or equivalent as there is a tv appliance but there is no tv signal here. The rear courtyard is well shaded and cool, and we ate outside on a few occasions. The house has a good kitchen and a nice large fridge freezer. And there is a choice of 2 coffee machines, we used the filter coffee maker mostly. So, all in all, the facilities are very good. A perfect spot to relax and enjoy the countryside

"Our three week stay at Mandarou was a wonderful opportunity to remember that it’s the sights, sounds, and scents of the countryside that provide the best opportunities to relax and enjoy every moment of life. Exploration of the bastides, many within 30 - 90 minutes of Mandarou, provides many opportunities to explore the history of the area. Bike rides and walks through the many quiet country roads was a highlight of our visit, with something new spotted around every corner. The night skies are uninterrupted with light, so star gazing is an amazing experience. Joel and Chantal were wonderful hosts! Both were always welcoming and very helpful. They embody the essence is Mandarou. In short, our visit was everything and more that we hoped for."
