"Hotel Splendid is an excellent hotel in an excellent Dax location. Many restaurants and shops within 2-5 minute walk, the hotel was classic art deco design. Very comfortable, modern bathroom, nice towels. Will return"

"If you arrive by car in the dark then its not easy to see the driveway to the Reception nor where you can actually park. You have to go in and ask! Very friendly and informative staff so first class in that respect. Room was fine and good enough but noisy smoking neighbours in next room on the adjoining balcony. Restaurant staff great. Usual disappointing menu but typical french fayre and they still dont know what a well done steak is! "

"Hotel had nice upgrades to common space w/ indoor pool/spa and sauna. Breakfast area was nice, but we didn't have breakfast any of the mornings. Rooms are tiny, but apparently standard for France. Hotel is in a weird industrial area, but quiet. Eery at night, but seemingly safe and totally fine. Sleepy town. "

"Nice, clean property with air conditioned rooms. Very comfortable and a nice view of the lake. My only comment is that is it not close to many restaurants, but this is no issue if you have your own car."

"Good location just on the outskirt of city centre. Easy check in/out with friendly staff. Comfortable clean room. Nice breakfast. Outside patio area to relax in. Restaurant not open on a Sunday evening. Would stay again for an overnight stop. "

"Clean property with terrace and parking just at the door. Appreciated to have a kitchenette and a frigobar. The only suggestion to improve the experience would be to decorate a bit the rooms. If not, perfect, everything was new!"

"We absolutely love this place. We had a fantastic stay. Thank you to Martine and Bruno for being excellent hosts. The accomodation was well equipped, there was an amazing pool , a ping pong table and a games room which entertained all the children. We spent most of the time outside near the pool and in the annexe which had a kitchen. We stayed in the main house which was plenty big enough to accommodate us all. "We just needed somewhere for an overnight stop on our journey by train from Spain to the UK (Eurostar via Paris). The 25 minute walk from and to the station was fine. Found a nice restaurant nearby for dinner. Nice location by the river. A bit confusing being called both the Miradour and the Ibis. Not quite sure what's going on there!"

"Nous avons passé des vacances formidable dans cette maison. Une vraie maison authentique avec du flaire où il semble que des gens y habitent le reste de l'année. Le contraire de maisons stériles qui ne sont là que pour les touristes. Tout en étant isolée et en profitant du calme pour notre groupe, la maison est bien située. "When we arrived at 3pm per our check in instructions, we were told the room would not be available until 5-530pm. Floors were dirty and the room is in need of updates. People at the front desk were friendly but did not speak any English. Although stated on hotels.com that English was spoken. "
