"This was a great stay for our extended family to unwind and enjoy time on the river. The breezeway table was a really standout for us - every meal was had there. River access on the property was perfect. The town of Castell is very small, so pack all you might need in terms of grocery items. "

"We had an amazing and relaxing three nights here. The outdoor shower was great! We had a bit of a problem with the hot tub but the owner was there in 10 minutes to resolve the issue. No WiFi and the cell service is just good enough for email and texting. We brought DVDs but the cabin was equipped with about 20 of them. Games too! The fire pit was an extra bonus. We went into Fredericksburg a few times and it was only about a 15-20 minute drive. Overall, great place!"

"We really enjoyed the peaceful setting with the pond and plenty of wildlife to view. Watching the sun rise while the deer wandered by the pond was one of my favorite moments. The cabin was well decorated, very clean, and had a full kitchen. We went to Enchanted Rock and Fredericksburg and the drive was not too far. It was the perfect place to feel out in hill country but still able to drive to destinations for the day!"

"We just had a wonderful weekend stay at the El Castell Cabins with our close friends. The location was great - we had big plans to go into Mason, but the cabins were so great that we never left except to walk across the street to the Castell General Store for dinner & drinks. The cabins were clean, comfortable and had all the necessities plus extras (games, yoga mats, etc). "I did not like it personally because it was too remote for me. I knew that but I did think we would have access to some sort of TV or outlet. The heater in the bathroom did not work therefore, it was cold in that area.The movies supplied were as old as 1975 nothings current. It would be great for someone who likes to spend time in the wilderness."

"We had the most incredible time at Red Sands Ranch! The property has outstanding views of the bluffs and river and each cabin is perfectly outfitted with everything we needed. The cabins were definitely more than glamping?? In fact, the bed in the Sunday Cabin had the most comfortable and adjustable mattress just like our bed at home - wasn't expecting such a high end mattress, but it was wonderful! We played tennis and pickleball all day and because of the lights on the court - we played well...
