Nightmare Management
Property nice, everything else a nightmare. Directions were poor, management company, Vacasa, completely unhelpful. 90 minutes to find it after we were there. Vacasa management telling us to contact local host, who wouldn’t respond to phone calls, emails or texts over days. Place was completely uncleaned, all linens and towels dirty. Wrong WiFi info. Promises to show up and clean from Vacasa did not happen. It’s a lovely property with nightmare management. Thankfully they refunded the cleaning fee.

Local Host Issue
The home itself was beautiful, lovely scenery, great kitchen, and huge enclosed deck. Our biggest issue was the home was never cleaned prior to our arrival. Kitchen was filthy, trash on the counters, trash can overflowing. Stove was a mess, rice all over it, and down on the burners. Out of date food in the refrigerator and pantry. Bedrooms had soda cans on the nightstands. A box of chocolate frosted donuts half eaten on the counter, bedding and towels on the floor, (from the previous guests doing what they were instructed to do) The toilet in the master bathroom was clogged and absolutely disgusting. We decided that this was not going to ruin our trip, and we did what we had to. We washed all the bedding, linen, towels and cleaned the kitchen. Took out all the trash, unclogged the toilet, and then made our dinner. The gas fireplace would not light, the pilot light would not light at all for the fireplace. There were instructions by the manufacturer on how to light it, but it just would not light, by the igniter or by lighter. I texted the local host and got no response. I was communicating with the company VACASA, and they were very responsive. Unfortunately, my only remedy was the local host. When I asked them what other options I had, since she was unreachable, I received a text from said host, literally 5 minutes later. Obviously, they contacted her. Her response to my fireplace inquiry? What's wrong with it? It was working when we were there. OK. I guess she was there,

Holiday getaway
The home is beautiful and location was stunning. The photos did not do it justice. We loved the outdoor patio. My only advice is to not arrive in the dark. It’s a steep climb up an unlit road with no guardrails. A bit scary if you aren’t used to it. Home was fabulous and had everything we needed.

My family and I made reservations to stay at the “Dizzy Den” with hopes of spending our fall break in a beautiful get-away. We live on the Nature Coast of Florida’s west coast and were personally impacted significantly by the flood waters (4ft of water in our house)of hurricane Helene. We tried numerous times to cancel our reservation because of the status of our house and we were told that the policy would not allow a cancellation. We decided to move forward with the trip. On October 17, we drove 9 1/2 hours and arrived at the cabin at 2:15 AM. Upon entering the cabin, we were disappointed to see the house had not been cleaned after all, socks and toys strung out on the floor, bedding was piled on beds, food all over the kitchen counter, grease splatters on the stovetop, both sinks full of dirty dishes. 2:30 in the morning and driving 9 1/2 hours only to walk into filth. We called the rental company and were told they were sorry but we needed to speak with the local renting agency.(They were very nice) and tried to contact the local agency and were not successful. We had to drive into town and stay in a hotel because the house was not fit for staying. We spent several hours the next day trying to get a refund. We decided at that point to just return back to Florida. A representative from VRBO called us when we were heading back to Florida, they were apologetic, the damage had already been done.
