This hotel offers a peaceful retreat in a remote location, perfect for those looking to relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle of the city. If you're seeking tranquility and scenic surroundings, this is an ideal choice. However, if you're looking to stay in the heart of the city, this may not be the best option for you. Keep in mind that due to its remote location, you might experience longer wait times for cabs or transportation services. Overall, it's a great place for a relaxing getaway.

The hotel in itself was really nice but the are around it was not that interesting. There is a construction area just next to the hotel and it can be noisy, and the beach could be improved. The staff was really nice with us and always very responsive and friendly

I liked the bigger pool. It’s a good size for doing laps. I liked a few staff members (Mauricio, Juslady (wrong spelling :/)). I didn’t like the following: - same lunch and dinner menu every day; - empty breakfast buffet sections; - frozen snack options; - no direct access to the beach (no private beach); - mold and bugs in the room; - one-time guests get served before all-inclusive guests & very long wait time; - far from the city; - no one speaks English; - no activities at all.

The homes smelled damp, old and closed up. Lots of dust in the room (behind the glass where the headboard and bathroom glass meets) and on the light figures. No hot water for bathing (just warm) and lots of roaches where they serve food.

We stayed here for 7 nights and absolutely loved it. I definitely think the pictures of the place online undersell how nice the resort is. The decor was nicely laid out and well kept. The area is quiet, especially compared to the Bocagrande area of downtown Cartagena. Uber rides were cheap and took about 10-15 minutes to the walled city area. There are four bars, one down by the beach in a private lounging area with a security guard who will watch your stuff if you walk the beach. Another bar is next to the western pool with lounge chairs and bar tables. The main bar is called the Elixyr and is located near the lobby. And one more bar is next to the eastern pool. Many of the bartenders were in training so if you ordered a drink from different people it came out looking totally different. There are two restaurants, one is buffet-style called "Merkato" and is located under the lobby. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you buy the all-inclusive package, that one is always free to dine at. The other restaurant is the "Fish House" located in the western building. It is a standard dining experience and serves pretty great food. On Mon-Wed, they only served dinner at the Fish House and gave us a special all-inclusive menu with select dishes. I highly recommend staying here, it is a nice place to escape to after spending the day or night in the bustling city. The staff couldn't have been kinder and more accommodating. Do yourself a favor, and stay at the Karmairi.

Do not stay at this hotel. We had to change rooms 3 times. There is mold in all the rooms and they try to hide it by spraying febreeze on all the baseboards. Our toilet leaked water. The air conditioning leaks water. The drains for the showers dont drain so the bathroom floods. There is a lot of dust in the rooms. The pillows have stains on them. The sheets had stains too. The food is the same every day. And the beach looks directly at a parking lot. This was by far the worse hotel I've ever stayed at. Also to note, the room key card they give the guests can open every room in the hotel causing a security risk. And with the health risk of the extremely moldy rooms, i wouldnt stay here. This hotel is outdated and would need an extreme renovation. All they do is put bandaids over the many problems they have.

Pros: staff was friendly and caring, sand at beach is soft. Cons: - it says it is an adult only hotel yet there were kids at the breakfast buffet and swimming in the pool. - the rooms were run down, we had to change rooms because the first one's shower was not draining well and the room ended up flooded. Half the lights weren't working and "clean" towels had black grease marks on them. - the food was super expensive and really bad. As an example, we ordered the Crab Empanadas, they took almost an hr and were still frozen on the inside. The prawn ones were like rubber. - the hotel is really run- down. The fake grass in the swimming area is practically gone, the reflecting pool is missing more than half of its tiles. - there is a really bad smell like Rotten eggs/sewer around the rooms and there's loud construction happening next door - location is not good- far from everything - beach club has parked cars on the beach in front of it. Would not stay here again, seriously overpriced and definitely not 4 stars

Common areas in poor condition. General cleanliness is poor. F&B: few food options, terrible breakfast in terms of presentation, taste and offer(warm yogurt and burnt coffee are unpleasant); only one restaurant available until the evening with limited options (seafood or fish). There is no snack bar or other gastronomic offer. Room in terrible condition: walls with obvious signs of damage, broken floor and loose tiles in several areas, smell of grease on bed linen and towels (the ones brought "clean" were in the same condition). Bathroom with signs of attempted repair (poor). Dust on all surfaces. There is no signage in most areas. The staff, Wifi and Cable TV are the only things that can be saved from this experience. I checked out of the hotel after 3 nights (3 of the 7 reserved and paid for)

This property was so far from everything. it would take us about 30mintues to get to the city via uber and taxi, some of the staff were rude. but there were a few friendly and helpful ones. Most of the staff didn't speak English. Carlos and one other staff that I can't remember his name, but he worked at the restaurants front desk those two staff were very friendly and kind. There is Construction around the hotel which was loud and not appealing at all. Food was okay. The pool has a lot of space to relax in. I was given room 2004, the room smell very moldy, the shower water was not hot, just warm and when showering the water would back up into the bottom of the shower. Personally due to my experience at this hotel I will not be coming back or recommend to anyone. Luckly this stay was only for 2 days at this hotel, so it didn't have a chance to ruin my whole trip. Truly I believe that this hotel needs to work on their customer service skills. (accommodation and understanding for customers).

I personally like it, Karmairi was very beautiful quiet and chill. They offer breakfast thats all I ate there, they have a pool and a bar lots of areas to relax in peace. Its just pretty far from the walled city & clock tower maybe like 20-30min uber each way. I didn’t realize until I booked my excursions and mapped the distance out. The aesthetic of the hotel is beautiful, the rooms are nice, showers nice and hot, I think all the rooms come with a balcony. There was some construction going on right behind the hotel. My biggest con was there were a lot of water leaks and ceiling pieces that were removed or had fallen. Which is pretty common but I just feel like it could have been better maintained. Staff are all very nice, also super helpful. I actually checked out late and they had no problems at all. I would honestly stay here again but its just the distance from where everything is that gets me. Oh their is a bar and restaurant right on the side of the hotel as well if you’re looking to chill and not go to walled city. I also did not check those out.
