This place is wonderful! My husband and I got married on Drano lake and this cabin was a perfect place to stay with our friends. There is plenty of parking, clean, quiet, and overall a really cool location. It was easy to rent and get instructions. Everyone who stayed loved it. We will definitely be coming back!
I brought my son and a few of his high school XC friends to run the Bridge of the God's half marathon. This house was absolutely perfect! They had plenty of space in the yard to play frisbee and they went on multiple walks and runs. The house was very clean and beds were very comfortable! We would love to come back next year!
This was a great location for my family of 4 and my mother. The house was clean and has a beautiful view! Things to note- there is no wifi or TV but plenty of cell service.
We would stay here again!
We always enjoy staying here - don't miss the TV or wifi at all. (4th time staying)
It does seems like many kitchen utensils are missing, since previous visits - but we muddled through.
Shower knob needs repair or replacement.
We loved this house and its location. The house was clean and just what were looking for as a base for our family during our son's wedding in Cascade Locks. Loved the area around the house and the history of this location. I hope we can make it back to stay again when we have more time to enjoy the area.
This house was very clean & quiet during my stay. I stayed here 3 nights for Thanksgiving. House was well equipped and everything was in good working order; Washer/dryer, stove, fridge, dishwasher, furnace. The beds were comfortable. There are several hikes and walking trails close by, saw several deer and elk. There are a few things I want to point out; There is no entertainment i.e. TV, radio, we brought our sound bar and used our phone for music. I wish they had radio/music-TV, Cleaning supplies would had been nice for us to use (broom/dust pan/vacuum) for spilled sugar. The outside overhead lightbulb between the garage and laundryroom door needs to be replaced. We baked for Thanksgiving, measuring spoons/cups would had been nice. There are NO window coverings in the entire house, which is fine in the daytime. However, at night it felt like a fishbowl. They really need to put up some window coverings. We enjoyed our stay, and would recommend and go back.
This was a great spot dor our family from both sides of the state to meet and spend the weekend. There were bedrooms enough for us all to have our own sleeping space and common space where we could all enjoy games together. We enjoyed the proximity to hiking and the outdoor spaces. We also loved learning about the history of Wind River. Thank you for keeping the home historic as much as possible. We just loved it here!
Property is owned by Skamania County that works M-thurs. They never sent the key code for the house I paid for to enter on my birthday Friday 10/04. It took me 2 hours of asking for help from the towns people of Stevenson, WA the county seat. Finally VRBO called their emergency phone number & I received a call from a manger that apologized & gave me the code. I will be writing the county & the local newspaper to submit my complaints. Brittany needs to be reprimanded!
For me, coming from a city, this is almost that perfect get away I was looking for…nice, quite and surrounded by beautiful forest, creek, range and mountains view. Would help a lot if we can get better cellular and internet connection. The property is in a good condition and the service from property management was very good.
Great unique little property tucked away, super quiet. Beds are comfy, house has a decent set up, but pretty much the basics in the kitchen. It was a great landing zone for our group. The only thing worth commenting on is no window coverings or screens, so that was the only thing we felt was missing or would have been nice to have. Other than that, we would absolutely stay again, great little quiet spot.

Beautiful forest!
Very sorry, but we broke a glass tumbler. Also, there is a mouse in the kitchen, and someone has given it access to the countertop. Otherwise, we had an awesome time, and the beds slept well.
We have stayed here twice: once for the 4th of July and once for New Year's Eve. We have a very nervous dog and this house is ideal for a quiet getaway. It is so quiet and peaceful there The house is the last one at the end of a dead end street. The other houses on the street look abandoned and unoccupied. There are no curtains on any of the windows and strangely, both weekends we stayed there, several cars would drive past each day we were there (never the same car), park at the end of the road in full view, and stay there for 15-20 minutes. The drivers didn't look like teenagers. Must be the thing to do out in the country. If you have reactive dogs, they will no doubt bark at these cars. Curtains in the living room would be a nice upgrade.
The home was very spacious and updated. Our stay was limited in the house as we had a wedding to prep and attend.
Communication with host was quick however when at the place there's no connection until you connect to the WiFi or you have a hotspot.
A couple of suggestions would be to have the cleaning service done prior to arrival of guests with extra linen and laundry and dish soap. Other places also offer toiletries too. Luckily we had extra for all. Kitchen needs a blender and more sturdy cooking spoons.
We noticed rodant activity around edges/corners of the kitchen countertops and floors at arrival, hence a bleach bottle would be good to have at hand. A mop, bucket and cleaning solution in utility room would also be useful.
Instructions on how to leave the linen would be great.
Hope we left the home as clean and organized as we could.
It is a really nice neighborhood - we got to see the exhibit of the experimental forest on a small hike we did around the back.
It is a great idea to bring more visitors into the remodeled homes.
Thank you for letting us rent your home in the forest
