With a view that immediately brings you peace, "A Shore Thing" is a delightfully themed, first floor, corner unit in the Salty Hammocks condominiums that allows you to enjoy every aspect of a home away from home. Sit on the deck and bask in the salt air, crashing waves, and ocean breeze.

The open living room and kitchen area provides a cozy atmosphere for family and friends to spend time together. A modern kitchen with all the essentials gives you just what you need to make your favorite home-cooked meals. There are two bedrooms (one with a Queen and one with two Twins), two baths, and comfortable living room area. It has a nice sized deck to enjoy your view of the ocean including a spectacular sunrise.

Salty Hammocks is an oceanfront condominium building with private beach access, and a spacious oceanside pool.

While visiting "A Shore Thing" in Carolina Beach during the summer, make sure to visit the Boardwalk, it has fun for all ages, or take in a Movie at the Lake on Sunday evenings and no one should go home without trying Britt's Donuts, it's located on the Boardwalk. The NC Aquarium at nearby Kure Beach is open all year, the kids especially enjoy the touching pond so make your plans today to visit Carolina Beach.

Pools are usually open from mid- May to September, but dates can vary based on weather, permits, HOA guidelines, inspections, improvements, and unforeseen events. Beautiful place/loud overhead though
First let me start by saying that This was such a beautiful place to stay. I was a bit disappointed how hard it was to figure out check-in. The office was located about 6 minutes away from the actual condo. We had no instructions prior or information telling us that. Next, if you are on the bottom floor, the room above us is so loud, you can hear every footstep throughout day and night. Overall, great place to stay.

Nice place!
Perfect location and view! The beds were a little form for my liking. A pillow top would be a nice addition. This is an older unit but it is nice, clean and in a great location. You can tell it’s age from the low shower heads and lack of overhead lighting especially in the kitchen. You have to stop by the realty company to pick up the keys and drop them off when you leave.

My husband has short term memory loss so this was a great location for him to make it to the condo and back from the beach on his own since it’s right off the walkway to the beach. Corner unit was awesome. Would like to see some updates inside.

Almost perfect...
The location was perfect with super easy access to the beach. We loved the large balcony overlooking the beach. Perfect for watching the sunrise! The condo has all the amenities of home. The kitchen was small, but we managed fine with two adults and one child. We were disappointed that we had to check in with the property manager instead of having immediate access to the unit when we arrived. The mattress on the bed in the primary bedroom was very hard and as a side-sleeper, it was almost painful for me. I also wasn't expecting the large area of mold growth in the primary bedroom closest. I snapped a pic and sent it to the property manager. Hopefully they will take care of it before the next guest arrives. Other than the mattress and mold, which are both easily remedied, the unit was perfect for us.

The property was very convenient to the pool and overlooking beach entrance gate. But... there are some things about the property. There is little lighting in the kitchen and eating area. Only a light over the sink, none over kitchen or bar and no light over the table. We didnt have candles to use to help us see our meal. The whole place seemed to be more for smaller people. We are tall and the shower head was so low I had to bend over to use it, A wand should be installed for this reason. Also, the silverware is not adult sized, more an in between sized for toddlers.

Few things need addressing
We have stayed in multiple Vrbo s world wide including others in the outer banks. Always including in Scotland there was always the basic seasoning available for use. You need to at least have salt and pepper for use. How much can that cost. Think about what you would want.

Fall vacation
Found dead roaches in the kitchen, front porch had soft spots in floor which was unsettling. Good access to beach. No furniture on porch as shown in list picture there.

Family trip 2020
Started with call 2 hours prior to arrival ac had gone out and would be replaced on Tuesday, charged it enough to cool...showed up in Monday to fix no notice? Choose property for outdoor living shown in pics. Couches, chairs table etc. arrived to 3 plastic chairs. Several calls to property mgr with no resolution after stating “several weeks ago” tenants damaged it so plenty of time to replace. Apology for misrepresentation is all I got again after I had to call several times to follow up. Place needs serious attention. Outdoor floors weak, one area in patio with rug over spot feels it will give at any moment. Gutters not attached probably why water decaying the floor. Walk inside and floors are buckled from water damage. Floors in bedroom where wet, property mgr said just cleaned... fridge has no ice maker, no Tupperware to be found, silverware cheap and could not cut through a piece of meat, knives all so dull couldn’t cut a lime. The owners have a lot of work to do to make this place accommodating and up to standards of most rentals. Pics show much better than conditions actually are. Old and run down needs love!!!!!

Shore is a great spot!
We loved our experience at Salty Hammock and A Shore Thing. The property was extremely clean and convenient. Although the pool was still closed due to COVID, we thoroughly enjoyed every minute. This is the most comfortable we’ve been in a condo in years! We did experience a small leak from the AC unit freezing up, but repairman arrived within 15 minutes of reporting to repair the ceiling. Excellent stay. Will 100% return!!
