Stunning Ranch Home with Ocean Views



The Acorn is located 2 miles south of Carmel across Highway One from Point Lobos State Park - one of the most magnificent and picturesque areas on the West Coast. This property is located on approximately 5 acres on the top of a knoll overlooking Carmel Bay, Pebble Beach and Point Lobos. Surrounded by open space and park land, the Acorn is a very private setting yet only a 5 minute drive to a new Safeway, shopping and Carmel-by-the-Sea shops and dining. Golf, scuba diving, hiking, beaches -- all close by. Big Sur is a scenic drive just 40 minutes south on Highway One. In addition to the main house, there is a charming guest house with full accommodations.


The Main House: The main house features a king master suite with sliding glass doors that provide romantic, breathtaking views of Point Lobos and Pebble Beach and access to the home's expansive deck. There is also a queen bedroom with separate bathroom and dressing room that also has access to the deck via sliding glass doors. Two additional bedrooms each have two twin beds.
Guest House: The guest cottage is a charming, cozy 2-room cottage with a king bed, full bath, kitchenette and laundry. This unique cottage provides ultimate privacy from the main house should you so desire. Yet it is close enough to provide additional guest accommodations for friends or family.

We allow a maximum of 8 guests, including infants and children.

Please note , no Events of any kind are permitted at The Acorn Ranch Home.

We allow up to 2 dogs for a fee of $195.

Lovely Stay
This is a lovely interesting home that was perfect for a multi generational family gathering. There were so many amenities, from a well supplied kitchen to fireplaces. The location is every bit as good as the pictures.

Heaven!
We had a wonderful stay at The Acorn! It was SO hard to leave! What a heavenly spot to enjoy in between fun outings. We appreciated the cleanliness, privacy, wildlife and opportunity to learn about the fascinating history of this home and surrounding property. This is a gem. We hope to return soon again.

Relaxing ranch overlooking Point Lobos & Carmel Bay
Very charming ranch with lots of comfortable furnishing and rustic charm. Overlooks horse pasture which was very cool . The views at all times of day are amazing. Close to everything … grocery , gas, Carmel sunset beach , Point Lobos tidal pools , short ride to Big Sur . Very relaxing location! Highly recommend!

Fabulous location, spectacular views.
This was definitely a magnificent experience. The history and pictures add to the story of this magical place. We loved seeing the horses in the pasture in front of us, as well as deer, coyotes, and wild turkeys. Great owner that is very available to contact. Highly recommend staying here. Truly A Hidden Gem
Wow, what an amazing place! It was spacious enough for my young adult children and their partners but ample living spaces to hang out in. Kitchen had everything you could want for cooking. My kids say it’s the best family vacation we have had in a long time. Perfect for a well behaved dog, and there is even a dog run with a gate. We will definitely be back!

The property is as advertised…and better. View of the Pacific over a horse pasture filled with wild turkey, geese, rabbits and other wildlife. The house is a treasure - large and exquisitely designed. Sara was very responsive.

Mixture of wonderful and kindness.
We happened to be at The Acorn during an atmospheric river event and gale-force winds. I cannot say enough about the support and understanding we got from all the Whislers. Even though the weather was challenging, the house was solid and warm and comfortable, especially with the two fireplaces. The view was as spectacular during the storm as it is on beautiful sunny days. It is a VERY special place and we WILL be back.

Serenity at The Acorn
I cannot say enough about how lovely The Acorn was. The views! The history! The peace! We saw 4 types of hawks, osprey, deer, wild turkey. Simply breathtaking. From the moment we stepped inside, we knew this was exactly where we wanted to be - the house is stocked with plenty of linens and paper products and has a nicely set up gourmet kitchen. We will be back for sure!

Absolutely Gorgeous
We came for Rennsport with some friends and stayed in the Acorn house! We loved having fire in the kitchen with our coffee and breakfast and the fire in the den in the evening with our wine. The house and property have so much history and we loved getting to read and see all the stories throughout the house. Thanks so much for sharing that with us. We will definitely be back!

3 Generation Family Birthday Celebration
We celebrated our daughter and sons 35th and 32nd birthdays with their spouses, our grandsons (4&1 years) and 2 golden labs. The house was spacious, furnished with everything we needed, had the most spectacular view, close to Pt Lobos, beach and Carmel, and provided our family with the perfect setting for a fun and relaxing vacation! We loved watching the horses in the pasture as well as the coyote, bobcat, turkeys, heron, bunnies. It was truly magical for our grandsons. Hope to come again! Thank you very much!

The Gorgeous Acorn Ranch Home
This lovely, creative, comfortable and joyfully quirky historic home has big windows and peaceful decks to enjoy the views of Carmel and the ocean. The beds are heavenly and it was nice to wake up to the turkeys and watch the horses in the pasture with breakfast. It's a quick drive into the town and Carmel Valley. It was the perfect stay for us with 3 generations of family as we celebrated my niece's wedding. A big thank you to Bud and Mary's family for sharing your family's home and history with us for a few days. We hope to be back.

Feast for the eyes
Great trip. Loved the property, history and beauty. It was charming and so inviting. The owners were great communicators, there was a bottle of wine to welcome us, and every supply you’d need. The one glitch we had was having to go through the bathroom to get into the Queen bedroom. I don’t think this would bother everyone, but one of our members did not feel comfortable with this.

Gorgeous home, Incredible views
We spent a week at this lovely property with five of our good friends. The home was perfect. Enough rooms, bathrooms and wonderful living/dining spaces for all of us. From lounging with our coffees in the living room, nightly card games and meals in the huge dining room to lawn games and BBQ dinners with an ocean view, this wonderful home was a treasure. Patrick and Sarah were wonderful hosts. They not only prepared us with everything we needed to have a successful stay, but keep us informed of local events that might have impacted our visit. What a wonderful home
This was our second stay at the Acorn. It is truly perfect for our family. So comfortable. We had four adults and two small children. Both the house and yard were exactly what we needed. We are from the East Coast, while our son and his family live in San Francisco. The Acornhas already become part of our family tradition. We are hoping to return many times in the future. Point Lobos state park, right across the road on the ocean, is spectacular. Sincere thanks to the Whisler family for making the Acorn available for guests!
