Very good location in city. Parking place in side of back yard (behind of gate), very good spacious and safety. Room for single was also spacious. Bathroom was nice. Bed was comtable, I sleep very well. Breakfast was good. Personnel in hotel was very friendly and helpful, I got plenty of good information of city.
We were phoned by Gavin before check in and given the Eire code and gate code for the car park- this was a great benefit and we arrived at the Red-Setter with no problems. Super friendly Gavin made check in a breeze. Great useful information about where to eat, drink and what to see and do in the local area. The guest house is in the town centre and convenient to everything.
Our room (which was at the rear of the property) was quiet, bright and airy with a spacious en-suite shower room. The bed was really big and very comfy- we had a great nights sleep.
Breakfast was very high quality- hot and plentiful. Overall- a great overnight getaway.
The Red Setter was our first lodging on our trip to Ireland and it was a great experience. The owner, Gavin, is friendly and knowledgable about the area and Irish history. Our conversations during our stay were very helpful.
I had lovely stay. Room was comfortable and the hosts Gavin and Triona were welcoming, friendly and helpful. This b&b is full of old world charm, homely, central. Would definitely stay again and have recommended it to my friends.
Was in Carlow for 2 nights as attending a wedding in Castledermot, the Red Setter is fully of character and charm. Off street parking was a bonus. The owners were very welcoming and informative about local restaurants. Breakfast was delicious. Couldn’t fault the Red Setter , we were in room 9 which was very quiet , perfect , no issues recommending
Stayed just one night wish was longer great location to everything the bed was super comfy room spotless couldn’t complain at all. Gavin was lovely and full of great information on the area and Ireland as a whole wee took his advise and done the Cliffs of Moher. breathtaking. Would defo stay a again if we are ever back. Thank you
Stayed two nights in this well run b & b in the heart of Carlow. Gavin is a great host who you can see enjoys running his guest house. He offers very affordable and clean accommodation with an excellent breakfast to start the day. If returning to Carlow would not hesitate in staying again.
Absolutely delighted with the stay at Red Setter. They couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming. Lovey clean accommodation in the centre of town so you can’t go wrong. The breakfast was on par with what I’ve got in 5 star hotels and outstanding value for money. Triona and Gavin were fantastic and so friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back!
Set in the centre of the old streets of Carlow town, this is a gem. Full with antiques the town house has a homely feel run by a young modern couple. More sizeable than you'd imagine, it caters for everyone. Well worth a visit and good value too.
