Our Cottage Cabernet is situated in the upmarket leafy suburb of Constantia. Close to the Constantia wine routes, premier golf courses, the Constantia Village Shopping Center, beaches, Kirstenbosch Gardens, and nature reserves. This self-catering accommodation is an ideal base from which to explore the Cape. Take a day trip to the world-renowned Stellenbosch and Paarl, with their fine restaurants and wine routes, or try the historical Tulbagh, famous for its Cape Dutch architecture.

Ground Floor:
Open-plan lounge and dining room with a 4-seater dining table and sofa with a daybed. The lounge, TV room, and dining room open onto the big veranda with a terrace and garden. A fully fitted kitchen open-plan to the living area, with a big fridge/freezer combo, stove, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, and filtered drinking water. Separate guest toilet downstairs. A strong aircon system is in place!
Second Floor:
The main bedroom contains a king-size bed with a built-in cupboard, bedside tables with sidelights, an aircon system, a hairdryer, an Internet TV, and double window doors that open onto the garden. The second bedroom contains a queen-size bed, bedside tables with sidelights, and a built-in cupboard.
Both bedrooms are en-suite with a stylish bathroom with a nice deep corner bath, a big shower cabin, a basin/cabinet, a corner toilet, and soft fluffy towels.

We are situated in beautiful countryside and all of the trappings of contemporary living. Constantia has an excellent infrastructure with all amenities. Our wider area is called Constantia Valley, the jewel of the Cape, steeped in history and breathtaking scenery. It is the birthplace of the wine farming industry in South Africa. World-class wines are being produced in this lovely green area and are acclaimed for their escalating quality. Visitors can taste the fine wines and experience a unique journey through each of the 8 open-for-public farms, which also hold top-class Restaurants, namely e.g. Chef’s Warehouse at Beau Constantia and the Restaurant at Constantia Glen. The farms are all within a few minutes' drive of each other. With two top-class golf courses within the valley and two others in the vicinity, Constantia is well known as one of the golfing paradises of the world. It includes the Constantia craft market, local horse-riding and mountain-biking trails, and the up-market Constantia Village Shopping Center, which offers a wonderful variety of boutiques, coffee shops, and restaurants.
Also within a short distance of Constantia is the world-famous Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens (5km), where one can spend hours wandering through the splendour of countless different botanical displays, such as the Fragrance Garden, the Dell, the Cycad Amphitheatre. Alternatively, there are summer picnics on the rolling green lawns, gazing at the breathtaking mountain backdrop, and listening to the music of one of the Sunday concerts at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. These sunset concerts are a fine way to spend some of your holidays in Cape Town.

Directions:
Coming from the Cape Town International Airport, take Highway N2 to Cape Town. At "Groote Schuur" (big hospital on the right), leave N2 to the left at the sign “m3 to Muizenberg”. Follow M3 and pass exits Rondebosch, Kirstenbosch, Claremont, Bishopscourt, and "Constantia Main Road" until turnoff no. 15, Kendal Road. Turn left on Kendal Road into the Morningstar/the Vines/Constantiaberg area and turn left again (next) into Walloon Road. After 300 meters, stop at the big white gate (yellow walls) on the right side, no. 14, and ring the bell “office”.
Getting around:
The best way to see the sights is to use a rental car. Alternatively, Uber taxis are always available in the area. Standard taxies can be organized by us (arranged pick-up times). Major railway stations are in Plumstead and Wynberg. Local bus lines or black taxis are not recommended.
