An excellent choice for a budget stay
We chose this pub/room because of the proximity to my family and their ability to accommodate pets. The owners and staff were kind, polite and welcoming. They made a big fuss of our dog and they looked after us in the evening. The hotel room was clean and tidy; nothing extravagant but that is not the reason we stayed. Thank you to you and your staff for making us feel welcome. One to note and we will keep it up our sleeve for the next time we visit family.

Room was nice enough but noise from pub went on until 11pm. One night there was live music until just before midnight and people talking loudly and playing music until 2am.

Nice room and pub
My second stay here. It is conveniently located in the town centre, with ample on site parking. There are 3 rooms, one of which is en-suite. Room was large, clean and comfortable. Pub was nice, very busy on the Saturday night as there was a private function being held in the back room. All of the staff were very nice, friendly and helpful, especially Harry, who worked extremely hard all night. There is free Wi-Fi in the pub, but I struggled to get any signal in the room, which was the only downside to my stay. I will definitely stay here again when visiting the area.

Mixed experience
Comfortable room and friendly helpful staff. Busy local pub clean and interesting but loud music until midnight and then music after that with poor sound insulation. Not a place for a restful night.

Don’t expect to sleep.
Freezing rooms are separated by a door which other guests have keys to. Other guests playing loud music, engaging in drug taking and the use of prostitutes until 5am. Do not expect to sleep here at all.

WORST STAY IVE VER HAD
Terrible experience. Not a place to stay for a good night's sleep. The rooms are only separated by a locked door. They had given the key to this door to other guests who drunkenly walked into my room at 2am. Because it's just a door separating the rooms, all sound travels through. The selfish guests next door were extremely noisy all night, blasting music and TV until 6am. No chance of getting any sleep. The pub itself also had very loud music until around 23:00 which you should consider if you're going to stay here. The shared shower only had freezing cold water. I won't be staying again. Avoid.

Great family/dog friendly pub/restaurant and rooms
Was attending the area for Banger Racing at Hednesford Hills Stadium and booked a 2 night stay in an en-suite double room. I was greeted by Manager Chris, who quickly checked me in and showed me to my room. The room was clean and tidy, large with a very comfortable bed. The en-suite was clean, with a good shower and complimentary toiletries. Free car parking in the pub car park and good Wi-Fi included. They do not serve breakfast, but there are other eateries within a couple of minutes walk. Highly recommended and I will definitely be staying again. I had dinner in the restaurant on the Saturday night (Southern fried chicken strips to start, followed by Mixed Grill). They had run out of a couple of items on the mixed grill, but offered me either a different meal or to substitute the out of stock items for something else which I did. The meal was freshly prepared, was of great quality and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended and I will definitely eat here again. I had drinks in the pub on both evenings. They have a huge selection to choose from and very reasonably priced. The back room has pool tables and dart boards and there are tv screens, showing various sports. The pub is family friendly and pet friendly. The staff are all very nice, helpful and friendly. Manager Chris, was very helpful and friendly as was barman James, who both must be singled out for praise. The Hen House is definitely worth visiting and highly recommended.
