Great place to stay, unique and interesting!
We had a lovely stay here. It's perfectly located for the Croisettes Beach, had an amazing 'to die for' roof top pool and bar with a lovely view of the Carlton Hotel and the Beach/Sea. Each floor is uniquely themed for different continents of the world, so the decor is all very interesting. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on food. Highly recommended if you want somewhere one step below the 5* beach front hotels.

Nice hotel close to the beach
Staff need training as the bath was not cleaned after we used it and the receptionist was not polite, we were very tired and got no feeling of being welcome. The management though are quite skilled and rectified it immediately with a room upgrade. Also security guy asked for my mobile number as was 'travelling to London often'... Kept trying to find out why I did not give if as well, which was quite out of order.

Great location, not best hotel.
Hotel was nice enough but nothing special. Rooms are decent, staff was kind. The hotel security did make me feel very secure even though it was sort of annoying to have to check in each time you left your hotel just to get back in the building. Didn't have time to buy and adapter before the stores closed and the hotel did not have any to lend out which was inconvenient but not their fault, just something to make sure you have if you stay here. Rooftop pool and Jacuzzi was enjoyable and had a nice partial ocean view. All in all, you get what you pay for with this hotel; it's one of the more reasonably priced hotels in Cannes for the peak season (which is when we were there).

Nice pool but terrible rooms
This hotel is not worth the extortionate rates. At nearly £250 per night we expected a lot more. It started well, the lobby is beautifully decorated and the staff at check in were friendly and helpful. We got given our 'passport' and told we were going to Africa and were quite excited given the photos which advertised the 'superior' double room. Instead we were greeted with a tiny room badly painted in purple, with a framed picture of a monkey and some beaded cushions on the bed. Hardly 'Africa.' It was so dark it was almost impossible to find anything in your suitcase. We were so disappointed, especially as it was our honeymoon and really felt we had been ripped off. The walls were dirty, the bath was stained with chunks of wood / paint missing from the bathroom door. There was nothing luxurious about this room whatsoever and we have stayed in much nicer budget hotels. The pool area is the only thing that kept me from bursting into tears. Although expensive to eat and drink there (it's Cannes, we expect that) it has great views and is a nice place to relax. We were overall totally disappointed in this hotel and the rooms were nothing like as advertised. Had we got a truthful idea of what we'd be getting for close to £500 we would absolutely have stayed elsewhere.

The room was SUPER weird and the maids barged in every morning without warning. The rooftop pool and hot tub are both amazing as is the view and location, but the hotel itself is beyond weird and I would never stay here again.

We got to the hotel around 2:30 pm and we were surprised that the check in was 4 pm instead of usual 3 pm. We then waited until 4 pm and when got to the Hotel to check in, they informed us that our room would not be ready before 5:30 pm (meanwhile, they were checking in other people who had just arrived). I found out that they had "crappier" rooms for reservations through Expedia (facing the parking lot). I asked for the manager and finally the receptionist "found" me a room. I had also been informed that there was a health club (gym) but when I got there, the "health club" was a massage/facials room. Also, if you are planning to go to the Hotel's beach, forget it! Reserve a spot months ahead of time because everyday they tell you they are fully booked. Find yourself a better spot. Overall disappointing. Do not recommend.

We spent a long weekend at this hotel and loved the roof pool. The hotel will suit 20s to 30s - we are in our 50s but still enjoyed it.

Perfect location and price point.
This is a great boutique hotel in the perfect location in Cannes. The rooms were very good, and the grounds of the hotel very nice. The rooftop pool area was beautiful, although the pool and jacuzzi were not heated yet (it wasn't their busy season.) I do question any pool or hot tub that isn't heated during their cooler months. The air conditioning for the hotel was not turned on, also because it wasn't their busy season, and that made sleeping a bit terrible and hot. For the time you will spend in the hotel, the location, and price point, it is a great option. During the summer, after the film festival, it becomes a very happening spot, worth going back for. The staff was helpful and spoke great English. Do not expect a five star hotel, but know you are getting a great European hotel.

Hotel near Cannes Croisette disappoints
I had stayed at the same hotel three or four years ago, and re-booked this year (2015). I was absolutely shocked at the condition of the room (504). The carpet was filthy. Not just dirty and colour faded. Filthy. Full of stains, I mean a stain every few inches/centimetres. I took photos. No wonder the hotel provides flip flops for free in the room. The furniture is chipped and scratched. The rooms are no better than a run-down, cheap, 1 or 2-star hotel. I feel sorry for the floor staff trying to keep the rooms clean and presentable. At least the sheets were clean. The front desk staff and concierge desk were super friendly and efficient, needs to me said. However, the hotel owners only seem to be only interested in pocketing money, and have put nothing back into the premises. Had there been room availability at another nearby hotel during my one week stay, I would have checked out immediately. However, this was not an option. The only thing that saved this hotel from a 'Terrible' rating was the friendly staff. I've never written anything critical like this before, but the experience was just terrible and people need to know.

Awful to sum it up, We went to cannes for my wife's 40th, as a treat, the hotel was shocking, nothing like the photos. They showed us 6 different rooms, all as filthy as each other, I asked for a refund and was told they don't get the money, expedia do Really??? Terrible hotel, DO NOT STAY HERE !!!

Close to beach.
Excellent entrance however the upper floors and rooms need refreshing! Pool top swimming pool very cool, however needs better sun bathing/ more beds in the area. Expensive bar for what it was. 10 euros for a coke during the day!!! European floor was a bit outdated, but the bathroom was lovely, putty about the room itself, bare and a bit run down Breakfast was good but needs to be included in room, otherwise at 25 euros per person not worth it.

Quirky & cool but pricey.
Was a little disappointed on arrival as our room was not what I thought I'd booked. Learned that the photos on web are not necessarily for the room type (or price bracket) displayed on the website. Staff were quite helpful and after a little negotiation we managed to upgrade for a little extra cost which we were happy with, although this room was still a little rough round the edges (or was that the Afrique theme?) Then went to the great rooftop pool and found out where the hotel got its name from. We ordered a bottle of beer (250ml) and a g&t which cost €27, which we worked out at around 3.14 times the price it should be! It seemed everything was a little pricey even for south of France (I.e. coke can from the minibar = €10). Despite having a bar/club/restaurant downstairs we were never disturbed and the bed and room in general were very comfortable, clean(ish) and well noise insulated. We also loved the nearby 3.14 private beach which you can attend as a resident (be early to reserve your sun beds). However we didn't realise there would be an additional charge for this until we received our final bill on check out. Despite now having a slightly thinner wallet than intended we had a good time on our 10th wedding anniversary and would recommend the hotel for its perfect location and sheer quirkiness.

I think the stay was comfortable. My daughter had difficulties in our room to get adequate wi-fi connection. The breakfast by the hotel is not something to write Mom about. For 25 euros they can do a lot better in Cannes so we did not choose to eat our petite dejeuner there.

Quirky Cannes !
The 3.14 hotel is certainly not run-of-the-mill. From the blue cow in the foyer to the quirky decor in the rooms, it is definitely not a chain hotel. The decoration is fun and the rooms very comfortable, with particularly plush bathrooms but I just felt that staff were trying too hard to be trendy and not providing top quality service at all times, as you would expect. Having said that, the concierge was excellent and the service at breakfast was great. However, you could never be certain when the room would be cleaned and if they would leave enough towels-we had to call Housekeeping several times because something had been forgotten- and the mini bar was not always restocked. The location was brilliant and the pool and sundeck was lovely and peaceful in the mornings. However, it was usually packed and noisy in the afternoons. I just got the impression that the hotel only really wants young, glamorous people to stay there !
