Not a comfortable stay
Not the best it stays. Rooms was old and very dirty and dusty. Internet only works in living room. Was not clean or comfortable. Decent location. 10 minute drive to cento and close to ferry station. I won’t stay there again.

Cheap and decent place. Patience needed but nice.
Great stay. Decent location in the middle of the island. You will have to take taxis (50 pesos each way) to anywhere but it’s cheap. Tacos down the block as well as a grocery store. Not sure about the spot in the middle of the pool that moves around.

Safe area but no locks on windows or balcony
Nice place starting to get a little rundown. Locks don't work on windows or balcony and safe isn't bolted down. So no place to store valuables. Kept my passport with me.

Even though it’s a bit far from playa Norte the hotel is in a good location if you rent a golf cart or bike. The room was clean, the staff were very friendly and courteous.

quaint Mexican hotel.
This is a traditional Mexican hotel. Not a resort. They have a small pool on the ground floor and a small pool on the top with a spectacular view. The people who run it are very nice. The rooms are simple, our bed was comfortable. Our room had a kitchenette. Yet no utensils. We did ask fora blender which they brought us! The hotel is centrally located so you can go either north or south with ease. We rented a golf cart for the three days we were there. We liked the hotel and island so we returned for the last three days of our adventure.

Disliked: Amenities
This hotel was middle of the road with most things. It was a safe place to sleep at night, but didn’t offer much else. The free breakfast was a box of cereal, a carton of milk, some sweets, a yogurt, and bananas. I had to shuffle through 4 bowls to find a clean one, and decided after that to eat breakfast out. It’s not a convenient walk to either the north or south side of the island if you’re looking for activities or the beach. The two men working there were extremely nice, upgraded our room for free because it was our friends birthday, and were very helpful when it came to tips on what to do and how to get around. The older woman that works there was not so friendly (a little rude), and did not seem to be very interested in helping with anything. We had the option on the first day of whether or not we wanted our room cleaned, and we declined because the safe in our room was broken (which one of the men tried to fix, unsuccessfully), but we had to ask several times to get one extra roll of toilet paper. As the other reviews stated, there was also a smell of sewer that lingered in the bathroom for the entire trip. It’s a loud hotel, so keeping the ac on at night to drown out the sound was also a must. The highlight of the hotel for us was the pool on the roof. No one spent time up there at all, so in between activities, it was a great place for my friend and I to get some sun and take some photos. The view is really pretty from up there, and the pool was clean.

Elderly lady at front desk does not speak english, and is not the friendliest. Hotel is far from the main city and main public beach. Parking is in the street, but seemed safe. Internet signal weak. Not sure if the musty odor in the room was from chemicals they use or something else, but I had to sleep with the sheet over my head to avoid smelling it. I recommend find a better place close to the city, or take the ferry back to Cancun or Playa del Carmen.

Pros: -Staff was friendly and helpful -On a main road close to middle of island -Room was clean and housekeeping was excellent -Small fridge and a kitchenette with a table and dishes means you can cook your own food. ( No dish soap though) -Bathroom was good and the shower was larger than I expected. Cons: -Bed like a brick. While all the other amenities are nice and appreciated, at the end of the day a hotel's main purpose is to be somewhere to sleep. The bed we had was horrible to the point that it will prevent me from staying here again. I pulled off the sheets just to make sure I wasn't actually sleeping on a boxspring. I'd rather have been given a hammock or a couch. -Pool is more like a large jacuzzi, any more than 4-5 people and you'll be too crowded. (Not really a con, but something to be aware of, especially when it is hot)

We had a great experience at chac chi. The entire staff made our stay feel like we were at the Ritz. It was our first time not at a all inclusive resort and ill always stay at chac chi while in isla mujeres. It was our sixth time in Mexico but first time actually staying on isla mujeres and i wanna go back because of staff at chac chi. If ur looking for a lot of bang for your buck take yourself to chac chi suites. They kmiw how to treat guests over there

Over priced!
This hotel is way over priced. It is far from north beach. From the port to the hotel we had to pay $50 (pesos). When we wanted to go back to the city/North Beach it would have been $50 again but after waiting for a taxi 40 minutes, a nice lady with a cart gave us a ride. Continental breakfast was very limited. A couple of bananas, corn flakes, coffee, toasts, and butter. For 139 dollars a night, you might as well stay at the Ixchel.

Great place, for what we needed
It was a nice, clean place. It was great for what we were looking for. It was a reasonable hotel, not too far from the beach. It's not a hotel you hang out in all day. If you are just looking for a place to sleep and then get to know Isla, this is perfect.

Nice & clean. Close to everything
Chac Chi Hotel was a great choice for our trip. The room was really spacious & clean. The staff were all very friendly & helpful. Great location, just far enough out for a quiet nights sleep, but close enough to get to all the attractions quickly.
