"Great welcome from Eric, with basket of local goods, so kind. He showed us round the whole gite & the outside, & was available by phone or at their house at all times. Eric & Irene are very friendly, a lovely family. The gite main room is superb, beamed & vaulted high ceiling, but lots of light & doors to open. Kitchen is very well stocked, enough equipment etc for 10 people, & a lovely size room, with a great five burner gas stove. Great gardens, boules court, table tennis, swings, trampoline, all well kept. Wonderful black & white cat, who we befriended, too. Very well mannered cat!! The bedrooms were fine, & the bathroom a good size. The whole experience was wonderful. The Gite is in a very quiet place, with barely any traffic, yet only 5km from Villereal, a great bastide town with a nice weekly market (& a wicked gateaux shop!) Oh, & large supermarket on the outskirts, very handy. It’s an ideal position to visit so many towns without long journeys. Thoroughly recommend a stay at this property. "

"After reading the reviews we decided to take a punt and book the holiday. I’m so glad we did! All the reviews (good and bad) are spot on. The property is ‘rustic’. There are no frills but the layout of the house was perfect for 2 families and it is spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything you need. We all forgot towels and Lucie was at the door before I had even signed off. "

"In all a good holiday, but spoilt by minor issues. When asked about our arrival time we requested that we leave our cases at the property to have room to go shopping before our occupancy time. This was refused. We identified a broken shower and faulty air conditioning unit and waited until the Monday to report. Shower was fixed on last day of stay and air conditioning unit remained unfixed. The heat in the bedroom meant poor and uncomfortable sleeping. We were asked what time we planned to leave. We replied that the guest house would be available for cleaning on the Friday, and the last to leave would be CC 11.00am on Saturday. No thanks for allowing early cleaning of the Guest house and a curt reminder to vacate by 10am. So we had the felling of being tollerated rather than welcome."

"We loved staying on the farm. The house was large and spotless, hosts incredibly helpful. Our 3 and 5 year olds boys loved it too! The only thing to note for other guests (that is very usual in France) is that you need to bring your own bedding, this isn’t explicitly called out on the listing. Would definitely stay again! "

"We LOVED this house and garden. We would happily stay again. Be aware, there is no wifi - but we took a mi-fi dongle with a roaming sim and it was fine."

"The house was idealy situated for visiting many places of interest,Bordeaux,Bergerac and many chateau in the area. We were very disapointed with the standard of the property due to several issues.The house is very cold and damp and in some rooms has effected the wooden flooring,leaving a white deposit.Even in the kitchen, which has tiled flooring,surface water could be seen under our dogs bedding.The on-suite shower room wasn't very clean and had black mould around the shower tray and sink,which we had to clean ouselves.Although we had the use of an above ground swimming pool in the garden,it quickly became unusable as the grass,which was mostly weeds,became too long and unpleasant to wade through to get to the pool. Although I expect not everything to be perfect with an older property,I do feel the owners could pay more attention to these basic details.We were there for a month so these these things had considerable impact on our stay.We felt the owners put very little into running there gite and do the bare minimum."

"Lovely hotel, Great location less than 2miles from Bergerac Airport. Gentleman on reception Welcoming, Friendly and happy to help us with anything we needed (spoke perfect English also). We had two Superior Themed Rooms which were beautifully decorated. We did have an issue with one of the rooms previous guest smoking in. Gentleman on reception sorted it out straight away, offering us two other rooms to choose from and was more than apologetic and helpful. Board Game themed rooms which were really well decorated. Restaurant conveniently located right next to the Hotel, which was also beautifully decorated, food lovely and staff friendly. Will 100% stay again if we are ever back in the area."
