"An excellent stay on the Amalfi coast. The rooms were very clean and modern with the European touches. The breakfast was excellent with an excellent view of the sea. Very close to the main city centre of Ravello. The host Ornella made the experience a 10 out of 10. Very helpful and knowledgable about the area and showed excellent hospitality while we were staying here. Ornella went above and beyond to help make sure we have the best experience here! "

"Owner (Alfonso) canceled our accomodation about 10 minutes before we arrived. Prior to arriving, we asked whether it was possible to arrive at 10pm (it says check-out was until 8:30pm but requests could be made). Alfonso said this would cost €120 extra. To which we replied, it is ok we will arrive before 8:30pm. He then threatened by saying if we arrive so much as 1 minute late we will have to pay €100. "This was probably our best stay in all Italy, small little town in Amalfi walkable to the beach, restaurants and chapel. The room was beautiful and clean. The staff was so kind and the continental breakfast was more like a heavenly buffet with more than expected. Thank you Maria for all your hospitality. We will definitely be back next year for more than a night. "

"Most beautiful room ever with every upgrade imaginable. Location was convenient for travel but need to walk about 20 minutes for a decent restaurant. No breakfast options so when you stay for multiple days too many croissants. Staff was wonderful. "

"The hotel was clean and easy to access. However, it was supposed to include breakfast and A/C. Even though the A/C was set to 16 degrees, the room was steamy hot. We could not find breakfast and the hotel would not return our phone calls; we even left the messages in Italian. As such, I cannot recommend this hotel, as the accommodations are misleading and the service was terrible. "

"We had the most amazing stay here. The property is so beautiful and it is quiet and relaxing. Romeo is the best! He is so kind and helpful. He makes the most delicious breakfast every morning. He has it set up on the terrace for you over looking the sea. He makes the best omelette ever! Don’t miss it. The rooms were very clean, spacious and comfortable. "This is an amazing small hotel out of the way. If you find yourself lucky enough to be in the area, it is a Must stay. Staff treats you as if you were family and their is an absolutely Fantastic Steak House in the rear. The most wonderful steaks at an unbelievable cost. You will NEVER forget this stay. Worth going out of your way to find this gem."

"They gave us a huge terrace with our Deluxe Suite with a breathtaking view, a bottle of champagne and pastries for our 40th wedding anniversary and provided outstanding service with great restaurant recommendations. The incredible staff treated us so well! Breakfast was excellent. Amazing property!! Highly recommended!"

"I would definitely stay at Hotel Montestella again. It is centrally located in Salerno in that if you walk in one direction, you reach the "Old town" with the restaurants and shops, Cathedral and beach part in 10-15 minutes and if you walk in the other direction, you reach the train station in 8 minutes. If you go "down" you reach the "strip walkway" in 2 minutes. The staff were helpful and allowed us to check in early at 1230 and let us check out late at 1130. There is also a nice lobby with couches that we hung out at because our train didn't leave till 1600 and the staff told us it was no problem to hang out as long as we needed to. The breakfast was really good--coffee machines made cappuchinos and lattes, and there were scrambled eggs, sausages, an assortment of pastries, bread, fruit, and cereal. I also appreciated that the yogurt was refridgerated--we stayed at several hotels in Europe and yogurt was sometimes left out at room temperatures. The only thing to note about this hotel and it's not their fault--there is construction on the road in front of it. The earliest we heard anything was 0830 and the latest was 1730, so it did not bother us at all, but thought I would mention in case people are sensitive to noise during those times. I would definitely stay here again and recommend Hotel Montestella to anyone staying in Salerno."
