We recommend checking-in BEFORE DARK if staying for the 1st time. Past guests have mentioned that it can be difficult to locate after dark as there are no street lights nearby. The direction sheet provided works well and we have found is more reliable than GPS as signals drop in this area. That said a good navigator might make the initial drive in as smooth as warm honey.
4-wheel or all-wheel drive is highly recommended for the moderately steep grade and terrain of the gravel road.
All utilities are on reliable city connections.
Though the name might suggest, no Black Bear sightings have been reported at this cabin aside from the decor.
Some noise from the road can be heard at times, but is not near it or visible and is not busy (not like 715 or rt. 11) and most guests do not find it distracting to the zen.
This cabin has non standard steps to the bedrooms. It is more of a hand made sturdy beautiful ladder. It is not recommended for people with mobility issues or young children. Agility and ability to climb ladders is an absolute must to enjoy the full potential of this cabin.
