This is a huge beautiful property. The dogs loved the big back yard and saying hello to the cows in the morning. Irene was a great host, and had amazing fresh eggs for sale. Would love to book another trip!
Western themed - even had cows, calves, and horses in the pasture behind the house. The pond next to the property had geese and other birds making use of the water. Really enjoyed our stay.
Easy to find, very clean and inviting. Told host we were coming to celebrate a birthday, she went the extra mile and got a small birthday cake for us! Would go back in a heartbeat!
Our 17 day stay in Jan-Feb had many cooler days than we were hoping. Did find enough days with sunshine to hike, shop and find great eating establishments. The Ranch House was always nice to come back to for a serene laid back environment. The decor was definitely western and offered all the convenience we needed. We enjoyed our stay.
We spent 3 wonderful days here. The house is absolutely gorgeous, we didn’t even want to leave the house (also, we stayed here in January). We just wanted some quiet days away from work and the city, and this place is perfect for that. The house is beautifully furnished, the kitchen is very well-equipped even with essentials (oil, paper towel, coffee maker, utensils, dinner este, cookware, etc.).
The view is lovely, the backyard is also great for chilling at the firepit, or BBQ. The fishing pont with the fountain is so cute.
Irene is wonderful. She stopped by just to make sure we have everything we need.
We definitely want to come back.
Beautifully renovated historic home in the country. All the comforts of home with room to roam. Our dog especially loved running in the pasture, making friends with the horses and cows. Fresh pecans from the tree out back were an added bonus. Thank you!
Our weekend get away was exactly what we needed! The property was extremely charming, mature trees along the side of the house and a massive pecan shade tree that spanned the length of the back yard. We were greeted with the baby cows of the farm every morning and every evening. They have a watering system in the yard that comes on, well they saw our little enjoy the sprinklers and left them on for him to runaround and enjoy for hours. I wasn’t aware that was why they were left on and when I found out my heart just turned to mush at the consideration. Irene is such a gracious and kind host and we highly recommend her accommodations. We will be booking her property again! In one of our conversations we found we shared a mutual which took us down memory lane with the individual. I can’t speak highly enough about our relaxing and calming stay!
This was, by far, the best rental we have stayed at. The nicely decorated ranch house was so clean, comfortable, cozy, private and fun. I could go on and on with all the positives. Our dogs LOVED the big yard and quickly made “friends” with the visiting cows. It was great. Irene is the best. Easy to communicate with and made everything so welcoming. Definitely get some of her farm fresh eggs!!! As for the area, Camp Verde has so much to offer. Hiking, biking, casino, restaurants and of course it’s a beautiful area!! You are close to so much as well. We drove to Flagstaff, Sedona, Phoenix, Prescott, Jerome and all the little towns in between. I would definitely recommend this place for your getaway!!! Thank you so much Irene!!!
Stayed here for 3 nights in July. The house was clean and the beds were comfy! Plenty of things to do on the property. We visited the goats, chickens, cows and horses and enjoyed giving them apples and carrots. Fresh farm eggs from Irene were the best, along with fresh corn and watermelon from Hausen Farms. Best watermelon we ever ate! Irene was out of town (she let me know ahead of time) but was reachable by VRBO with any questions we had. The caretaker of the farm, Luis, is very friendly. Make sure you say hi to him if you see him around.
The house is right off the freeway, yet far enough to not be bothered with the noise. We could sit in the beautiful backyard and not notice any noise. It did make me pretty nervous with my dog as the front wasn’t fully fenced, however the sides and back of the property are fenced and I was made aware of this before booking.
We enjoyed grilling out while sipping on a glass of wine watching the horses graze in the grass. The pond area was a nice spot to fish (they like hotdogs) and a nice spot to cool off rowing on the paddle boats. Great spot to exercise your pet that’s fully fenced in! Only request would be a DVD player for the kids to have something to do when it’s too warm to be outside. :)
There is a Dollar General Store close to the property to grab ice or anything else you might need for your stay.
Thanks for letting us stay in your lovely home. Hope to return one day!

Make this home your next destination!
We chose the "Ranch House" for its central location to off-road / hiking trails and river activities. We were looking to stay in a relaxing environment to come "home" to after a day of exploring the great outdoors. From the moment we entered the front door, we felt like this was a second home to us.
The "Ranch House" is filled with historic ranch charm, embellished with custom textiles and thoughtfully decorated throughout. The home is brightly lit by all the windows which provides you with 360 degree views of the meticulously groomed surrounding grounds. Our children took a liking to the cozy sun room where they played the over-sized checkers game at the four-person game table. We enjoyed preparing our meals in the open, modern kitchen which looked out to the pond, the home to two white swans. The real lure of the property is out back though. Walk out the back door and your eyes are immediately drawn to the vast green pasture and a back drop of stunning mountain views. We enjoyed every evening on the back patio where we grilled, played card games and watched the cows graze until the sun set behind the mountains. Away from the city lights, the night sky twinkled with stars and the landscaping chirped with frogs which was the perfect setting for roasting our s'mores and telling campfire stories.
This home truly is in the center of everything. We enjoyed kayaking the Verde River, hiking along the creek at Bull Pen, learning about the petroglyphs at the V-Bar-V Heritage Site, and seeing the Sinagua cliff dwellings at Montezuma's Well. It's also an easy drive to Sedona, Cottonwood, Jerome, Strawberry and Pine. You can enjoy grilling meals at the ranch (be sure to pick up some fresh local meat from the Feed Store on Main Street) or dine at one of the local restaurants like the Verde Brewing Company (best burgers ever!).
It's important to note that our stay was during the busy Memorial weekend. While the "Ranch House" is right off the 260, a main route to other weekend warrior destinations, we were never bothered by road noise and the house was very quiet.
Thank you Irene for creating this serene gem in Camp Verde. It was perfect in every way!
So peaceful. Loved the quiet - the pasture with the calves and horses were great. We stayed at 4 VRBOS on our trip. All lovely but this was my favorite.
The property was well maintained. We loved the horses and cows that would come to the fence to visit us. The backyard was very relaxing and beautiful. The only issue we had was when we went to grill the propane tank was left open and there wasn't any propane left in the tank.
We loved our stay at the ranch house! We loved sitting out on the back patio looking out at the horses and cows - only wish we would've had some food to feed them!
The house itself was perfect for our weekend getaway - very clean and had everything we needed.
The Beds were comfortable,The backyard is Horses and cows and we had a great time feeding them everyday. The Ranchhouse was Beautiful!!! Great location to everything in Arizona. We stayed and had the time of our lives and we will be coming back! Irene checked on us periodically and asked if we needed anything. The stay at Ranchhouse was simply Wonderful we recommend it to all who want a piece of RanchLife with Huck and Lucky the Horses we will miss!!!! Thanks for everything Irene God Bless!!!!!!
This was a wonderful place for our family to relax and have great experiences. The house is comfortable and inviting and is always shaded by huge beautiful shade trees. The kids enjoyed seeing the farm animals and fishing in the pond. This is a great place for all ages!
We rented it for family members who were staying in town. We live in the area. We were able to all gather here for a barbecue in the backyard with Mountain View’s. The next evening we used the very open kitchen and living room areas to enjoy another family home cooked meal and card and board games. It’s close to Clear Creek and just beautiful. The Owner has decorated the Home immaculately. We are grateful for the experience.
The property was beautiful. We only spent three nights there and it wasn’t enough. The green of the yards and pastures was a little oasis in the area. The house was so clean. Can’t say anything bad about the place. I just want to go back.
