Madison River Fishing Cabin
The Madison River Fishing Cabin is a charming private get-a-way located on a braid of the Madison River, near the big bend of the river. The spectacular deck runs the length of the cabin and is perched on the edge of the river itself. Here you'll enjoy relaxing in one of the many cozy deck chairs while listening to the babbling sounds of the river. The cabin has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a galley kitchen, and a small dining area that overlooks the river and deck. The master bedroom on the main floor has a full bath and a king-size bed. There are two bedrooms upstairs, each with two twin beds, and a shared bathroom. The cabin is located a few miles below the Three Dollar Bridge.

Great place to stay. Literally right on a side channel of the Madison and all-around great location. Kathy was very attentive to all messages and requests during our stay. The grill was not getting hot enough and she had someone come out the next day to fix it. Looking forward to staying here again for years to come.
A very cozy and comfortable place with plenty of privacy. The house is located on the Madison River with a great deck overlooking the water. Very comfortably furnished. Loved the shower with great water pressure😄 which is hard to find nowadays. Definitely would stay there again.
Really enjoyed staying at this cabin, it was very well equipped, and the host was very nice with helping us get into the house and a property as VBRO forgot to send us the information. Very relaxing and comfortable. You will not be disappointed.
The cabin was exactly as expected. Very spacious and clean with a super easy check in process. It can be a little easy to miss the turn out for the private road, but having that extra privacy is a plus. Its close enough to West Yellowstone to be convenient but away from the hustle and bustle of a tourist town. You're literally steps away from the madison which is perfect if youre looking to fish. I'd definitely book again if i make a trip out to the Yellowstone area!
Place is great. Beautiful old cabin right on the river. It is a sanctuary and refuge from a day of fishing.
We had some mechanical struggles while we were there and property managers did their best to accommodate. They communicated well.
We are appreciative of this place and its character.
thank you
Great cabin. Quiet location. Very peaceful. Right along the river. Fishing was convenient. Close to West Yellowstone and Ennis. Beautiful views in either direction.
Awesome location right next to the river and off the beaten path. Access to terrific fly fishing on the Madison. Stars magnificent. Camp fires peaceful after long days of hiking. Master bed very comfy and enjoyed river sounds and owl hooting. Kitchen well equipped and lots of grilling too!
The cabin is like a favorite old pair of jeans. It has character and patina, yet everything works and has a sensible charm. It is a great location near the Slide Inn, Grizzly Bar and Lyons Bridge.
This wonderful fishing cabin was the perfect "basecamp" for a week spent floating the Madison.
It has an awesome, very private, deck right next to a side channel of the Madison; great place to spend the mornings and evenings (for a post fishing beverage if your into that sort of thing). The main branch is visible through the island and easily reachable to someone who knows how to cross a stream. My son caught his biggest Brown Trout of the trip in the main branch right by the cabin.
There is plenty of space for several travelers although we only had 3 with us. Although, the only tiny, tiny, nit would be that there was only a bath and a shower. So we had to plan our showers out before heading to Ennis or West Yellowstone for dinner; not that big of a deal to stay next to the Madison.
Also, the property has plenty of space to park your boat trailer without doing a 45-point turn. A huge plus for Driftboat and Flycraft folks....
I, without a doubt, will try to reserve this cabin again; hopefully annually. Tom
Location, location, location! Nice deck overlooking side stream of Madison, saw mule deer, good wade fishing access, nice fire pit in side yard

Madison River Getaway
The property was clean and tidy. The cabin was comfortable but dated. Not an issue for us. We loved the river sounds and were thrilled to see it was actually right off the deck. We saw deer daily on the property. No bear - thank goodness.
Communication with Kathy was rocky to start was she had internet issues. Once established, it was smooth. A manual in the cabin would have been handy with info like what to do with the trash, fire restrictions and such.
The drive to Yellowstone's west gate was a scenic 35 - 40 minutes. About the same for horseback riding.
We visited a few local bar/restaurant. All employees were super friendly and inviting. The pizza next door was amazing.
We attempted fishing with our rod and reels with no luck. Others caught fish on fly rods. Madison River is a catch and release river. Lots of places to fish in the area.
The single beds appeared to be a bit small but we did not use them. The washer and dryer were handy. All appliances worked. The toaster was a bit of a struggle as the knob was broken. We could have used a fly pan but there were other dishes to use.
We locked the gate each time we came and went.
We ended up purchasing bear spray as they strongly suggested having some if you plan to hike. I would suggest getting it online prior as we paid $50.00 for ours and thankfully never used it, probably never will.
Yellowstone - we did the lower loop one day and the upper the next. If you plan to hit side roads while in the park I would suggest splitting it into 3 days.. Although it snowed on Labor Day, the park was fairly busy and requires great patience. It was amazing! Our favorite spots were Hayden Valley and The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. We brought lunch with us and we're glad as most eating places were closed. There was minimal help with information as the visitor centers were closed so I would suggest getting a plan ahead of time.
Great trip!
The cabin is in a perfect location for our fishing needs. It is very well equipped with cleaning and maintenance stuff. It could use a little more silverware, so you're not doing dishes daily in the dish washer. The washer and dryer are a huge bonus for us travelers who want to pack light. Cozy, comfortable, and clean. We will be renting again next year, as it will become our "go to place" on the Madison.
Small cabin right on the river. It’s a great location with access to Ennis and West Yellowstone. The cabin is rustic but has everything you need. Our only complaint is four of the five beds are very small twin beds. We had four guys all over 6” and a twin is not big enough. Other than that it is a great place to stay.
The Madison Cabin is a great place to relax for a few days. Kathy's place was clean and peaceful; we slept great. You're right on the Madison River. If you want to fish right from the place, you'll need to be prepared to wade across the smaller stream into the faster moving water. It would probably be advisable to just use one of the easier access points a very short drive away in either direction. The drive to Yellowstone National Park is easy (maybe 35 minutes) and there is even closer access to other lakes and rivers for recreation. Communication with Kathy was expedient. We had a great time.
Two fishermen for three days on the Madison River. For our needs and wants, the property was outstanding. Clean, good beds, quiet. Situated in the woods, it stays cool and shaded. Well-appointed kitchen. Fun being able to wake up and have coffee looking for rises in the side channel of the Madison! Cell-service is decent, WiFi will be a bonus when it arrives (pending). Would happily rebook.
Kathy did a very professional job of staying in touch.
Overall we had a great time once we found the property. I tried for two days prior to check in to contact the manager for directions and never heard from her. On the day of check in I finally got her on the phone. She apologized and sent directions that were completely wrong! She said the gate to the property was 10 miles past the intersection of highway 87 and 287. At 11 miles we stopped and had to head back toward town to get cell reception. She apologized again and said she made a mistake and it was only 1 mile past the intersection. As we drove back we noticed a gate, stopped, and it turned out to be the property at 3.3 miles past the intersection. Not 10 miles past and not 1 mile past!
On the check out day the cleaner showed up at 10:15 and told us we were supposed to be out by 10. Our contract clearly states 11, which I told him, and he said it was supposed to be 10. Rather upset by this time I told him I didn't care what he thought it was supposed to be, my contract states 11. Obviously the property manager had miscommunicated AGAIN!
The cabin itself is nice. Don't expect luxury accommodations, but be assured everything worked, it was clean, and the setting is great!
