Our room looked to the square with amazing view of the main square and the river. We learned that the hotel was renovated 4 yrs ago and lobby is very impressive with half million little mosaic squares that simulate the biblioteca Joanina. "The staff are very kind and generous. Parking is very challenging on a narrow street with many hills. It is a simple walk to the famous library and university tourist areas. And the views are lovely. It is challenging to visit other parts of the city from this location. Breakfast was nice, dinner was delicious although the service was slow. There is limited storage for clothes either by hanging or drawers."

"We LOVED our stay here! Right from when we checked in, we got a glass of champagne and a snack, followed by a wonderful breakfast hand delivered to our room the next morning. Everything was spotless, and the staff was very welcoming. The only thing that you should be aware of is there is no lift, so if you can’t do stairs, ask for a main floor suite. Highly recommend this place in Coimbra! "
