Commanding glorious views, this charming former quarryman’s cottage provides a family sized, comfortable base from which to explore the stunning countryside of the Snowdonia National Park. It is perfectly positioned to make the most of the region’s exhilarating outdoor pursuits, golden sandy beaches, historic castles and rugged mountains. There are walking opportunities from the door, and a drive eastwards from the cottage through the Nantlle Valley takes you to Rhyd Ddu, the starting point of one of the footpaths to Snowdon and also a station on the Welsh Highland Railway.
Historic Caernarvon is close by with its impressive Unesco castle and fine selection of pubs, shops and restaurants. It is also the start of the Welsh Highland Railway for scenic journeys into the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. The beautiful beach at Dinas Dinille is only a short drive away and well worth a visit for its wonderful views across the bay to Anglesey and the Lyn Peninsula, with free parking, beach shop and café. Beaches on the Lyn Peninsula are within easy reach famed for water sports and wildlife, as is the beautiful isle of Anglesey.
The cottage contains lots of suggested trips including walking trails round the nearby Dorothea Quarry which waits to be explored, or you can sit in front of the cottage with a glass of wine from the nearby Pant Du vineyard and simply enjoy the views! The cottage’s new, (in 2023), stunning walk-in shower room is ideal for families after a day’s sightseeing. There is a selection of books, guides, games and DVDs to enjoy in the spacious and cosy living room, to complete the day.
